limited beta (although I somehow missed my chance to sign up for an invite).

Writers can take advantage of this organization feature to jot down nascent
ideas on an iPhone or iPad. This is a trick Ulysses has borrowed from specialist
novel-writing apps like Scrivener, so Ulysses could conceivably be used for
full-length novels as well, not just for articles and short stories.

Unlike the other three apps in this roundup, with Ulysses you can organize
snippets of text into groups and then compile these individual pieces into a
completed story. U lysses is perhaps the most interesting tool for writers of
the four apps we’ll see here, but it’s also the most expensive by far. I have
yet to meet a web app that can match the overall user experience of a
well-designed native desktop app. Ideas come to us in all sorts of situations,
so we need to capture these ideas when they arise - often using a mobile device
like an iPhone or iPad - before fleshing them out into full stories later on.

Residual income is not actually a type of income, but. Advantages of using
residual income in evaluating divisional performance include: (1) it takes into
account the opportunity cost of tying up assets in the division (2) the minimum
rate of return can vary depending on the riskiness of the division (3) different
assets can be required to earn different returns depending on their risk: (4)
the same asset may be required to earn the same return regardless of the
division it is in and (5) the effect of maximizing dollars rather than a
percentage leads to goal congruence. Passive income is money that is earned from
an enterprise that has little or no ongoing effort involved. So in general,
residual income is easy to calculate and is fairly simple to understand. The
total figure of residual income with equity investments is calculated by
subtracting the cost of the net capital from the net income. Managers being
evaluated using ROI may be reluctant to accept new investments that lower their
current ROI, although the investments would be desirable for the entire company.
Residual income is also used as the valuation method used for calculating the
value of a stock. RI is sometimes preferred over ROI as a performance measure
because it encourages managers to accept investment opportunities that have
rates of return greater than the charge for invested capital. Residual income is
when you continue to get paid after the work is done.

For example, assume that operating assets are $100,000, net operating income is
$18,000, and the minimum return on assets is 13%. Personal residual income is
what you have left after you pay your expenses. In business, accountants define
residual income as the total number of operations revenue that is left over
after costs are paid that exceed the minimum required return. When RI is used to
evaluate divisional performance, the objective is to maximize the total amount
of residual income, not to maximize the overall ROI percentage figure. Residual
income is a measure of profit after a company pays all costs of capital.
Residual income, unlike ROI, is an absolute amount of income rather than a rate
of return. RI = Net Operating Income – (Minimum Rate of Return on Investment ¥
Operating Assets) And if you want to know the equity value of the company, you
can use residual income to estimate the instinct value of its shares. You can
use it to identify a company’s net worth by subtracting the opportunity costs of
capital from the annual operating profit. We are looking for a company that
defines their compensation as Perpetual. Residual income is how you calculate
profit in the world of corporate finance. It is a popular alternative
performance measure to Return On Investment (ROI). That just doesn’t set well
with us and we want to see a more positive message in the company’s compensation

The most complicated stage, known as cavitation, occurs next. The pressure
generated in this stage tends to be lower than in the shock phase. During this
phase, the stagnation pressure generated from the projectile slows it down in
the fluid, transferring its energy to the fluid. Depending on the scenario, this
phase may exhibit the highest pressure. The effect of this shock is dispersive
and encountered by most of the structure in its path and cone of the wave. The
structure and fluid will be impulsively-loaded upon impact, creating a
hemispherical shock wave in the fluid that travels at the speed of sound. The
shock phase describes the introduction of the projectile into the medium. The
phases are shock, drag, cavitation, and exit. HRAM occurs in four distant
phases, with each phase accompanied by its own pressure distribution. The nature
of this damage will vary based on the nature of the material (e.g., whether it
is metallic or composite). There is also damage at the projectile entry and
sometimes exit locations.

The structural damage can range from complete structural failure to damage of
critical internal components. The pressure is very high near the projectile, on
the order of 10 ksi, and decreases exponentially away from the projectile but
may still carry enough energy to cause catastrophic damage.

The projectile will, in turn, transfer its energy to the fluid, creating a very
high pressure, which is then imparted onto the structure. A classic case, and

GAMESALAD ENDLESS RUNNER V2

WARNING: for efficiency, you might find that using a pool manager will give you
better performances, especially on mobile. This is the basic logic, you will
have to handle the creation of road items. Ok, I created a working sample for
this type of game. I just don't know how to translate that kind of logic to
appropriate actions with Playmaker in Unity. then when either object reaches a
certain negative Y position (game is moving vertical) the object would instantly
be placed at the top of the screen. these tiles would be told to move at that
speed in a certain direction. each would have a "move" behavior that has a
variable for spees.

I see a number of move actions, but i find them all to be really iffy as the
"right" way to get an object to move at a consistent speed. but i'll cross that
bridge when i get to it. for now a perfectly flat 2d plane would be fine, but of
course eventually having terrain would be ideal. the game would actually be
fairly stationary, but i need to create the illusion of movement by having the
ground scroll seamlessly. like a 3rd person camera following a car.

Sure hope my students follow suit.I'm looking to create a game that would deal
with a hovering camera over a moving 2d plane below. She did say she was busy
though and, to be fair, if she can't help out I'm happy enough with the shapes
that are in there at the moment.Ī real learning experience this 'making games'
lark. Still no update on the artist that expressed an interest. They don't
appear at the intervals I quite want, and there's some 'balancing' of sorts to
get right (when should new enemies appear, how fast should the game speed up).
I'm making progress with the UI and have got 3 out of my 4 enemies working. I
don't mind features that cause more work for myself, but to increase other
people's workload? Bad.Īnyway - with the scope now reduced, I'm fairly confident
I have a pretty pure and pretty simple runner on my hands now. To ask them to
double their workload so I can offer 'unlocks' is just dumb. I'm currently
asking a musician and an artist to help me out with no guarantee of money. The
alternative was to have the unlocks not be power related but have them be extras
such as new colour schemes, backgrounds, audio, etc. I mean, an infinite runner
isn't about being able to grind your way through it to get the ability to 'run'
better.

However, whilst all of this is feasible, it would kind of ruin the game's
'purity'. You see, the original plan was to have 'per-run' objectives. I mean, I

the simplistic look. This should make it quite clear that graphics aren't a

product Have 'missions' to complete (collect 10 coins in one run, reach 30,000ft
in total, etc) Plans for the game are as follows (list is in no order
whatsoever) It's REAL simple, but from a bit of playtesting I've done, there's a
nice rhythm that you get from the touching and letting go. When you press the
screen, the top character jumps and when you let go of the screen the bottom
character jumps. It's a fairly straightforward 'infinite runner' where the only
unique element is the fact that you have two characters to look after. Getting
involved in the TIGSource community seems like a good idea and doing one of
these here logs is a good way of going about it. By writing this out I'm more
likely to feel compelled to actually launch the game and not just stick with a
working prototype.ģ. I keep telling them to make and release games, so I thought

OCTODAD DADLIEST CATCH ONLINE PLAY

The original Octodad was developed by a team of DePaul University game design
students as an extracurricular activity. These include a flashback recounting
Octodad and Scarlet's first date, and a story Tommy and Stacy are making up
about Octodad working in a hospital as a nurse. Two bonus chapters were released
under the name "Octodad Shorts". The credits play on a theatre screen, with the
player having free rein over popcorn and the theatre seats here, Fujimoto is
heard saying "The book was better!" before going out of the cinema. The family
comes together, with Tommy and Scarlet looking toward a hopeful future with
their new knowledge of Octodad. Octodad, however, forgives Fujimoto, who makes
amends with Octodad. Fujimoto tries to kill Octodad, but is incapacitated by
Octodad and his family. Octodad escapes and shows up without his disguise,
revealing the truth to his family, though his daughter Stacy admits she knew the
entire time. Eventually, Chef Fujimoto throws Octodad into the shark tank and
kidnaps his family, trying to convince them that Octodad is an octopus. A series
of flashbacks also explains how Octodad originally took on a human identity, met
Scarlet, and eventually married her. As before, he must spend time with his wife
and children while not arousing the suspicion of other humans, including the
evil Chef Fujimoto, who knows Octodad's secret and seeks to expose and cook him.
Set after the events of the original game, Dadliest Catch features Octodad
working around the house, going grocery shopping, and accompanying his family on
a visit to the local aquarium at his wife Scarlet's request, much to his
chagrin. A multiplayer co-op mode is also available where up to four players
control four limbs.

For example, in a supermarket, the player must collect several grocery items
before being given their next task. The game is divided into several levels with
various objectives to be completed to progress in a level. If the gauge becomes
full, the player will be forced to restart at a recent checkpoint. To maintain
Octodad's identity, the player must avoid causing too much chaos in moving the
character around while in sight of certain non-player characters, like guards or
scientists, as tracked by a gauge in the game how quickly these characters catch
on is set by the game's difficulty level. The player is able to pick up and
throw loose items as well, through manipulation of these tentacles. The player
can control one of two sets of tentacles, mimicking arms and legs, switching
between the two with a single button. Octodad: Dadliest Catch requires the
player to control the protagonist, Octodad, as he maneuvers his way through
increasingly complex challenges all while attempting to hide the fact that he is
a cephalopod in human clothing. In the 'Octodad' series, the player takes the
role of an octopus attempting to mimic a human, with otherwise mundane tasks
made difficult by attempting to maneuver the octopus' tentacles as limbs.

Most memorably in the Italian Alps, a couple of great shows. And of course,
through Sal, showed a number of times in Italy. Was with the Gomez Gallery for a
while, which was one of Baltimore’s top galleries at the time. They now only
allow it to be won by a few in the area. They no longer give two grants to any
artist. Got the first of my two Pollock-Krasner fellowships, which is a nice
big, fat chunk of cash each time. I got four Maryland State Arts Council grants.
In the years that I took over after Sal left, I began to throw a series of
parties that kind of raised my notoriety or profile in Baltimore, along with a
lot of exhibitions. It scared the holy shit out of me, only to find out it was
one of Dorfman’s figures on the verge of being packed out to some museum. Helen
Frederick was the founder of that, and she was downstairs.Īlso Dorfman Waxworks
were across the other half of this floor There were times when I’d come out of
the elevator and see some guy standing there with a gun. In the years that I was
here, the Pyramid Atlantic was born here, one of the most important residency
programs on the East Coast, if not America. Yeah, in that amazing space that’s
behind the Cork Factory. They’re extremely dangerous because the walls and roofs
are semi-caving in, plus they’re filled with spiders and all kinds of other
lovely things. I’m the only person that I think in the building now that has
ever tried to explore them. Because he was full of stories, many of which I’ve
forgotten.īut because of him, I found out about the tunnels that run underneath
the Cork Factory down to the railroad tracks. And compassionate and just fun to
talk to. How generous is that? Pretty amazing! I loved him. We asked him why he
was willing to sell us the building for half the amount, and he said he had more
than enough money. Weant had an offer of $400,000 for the building. I had the
extraordinary opportunity with the other artists in the building to buy the
building from Weant Press. He’d been in New York, but he returned to New York.
After he moved out and up to Pennsylvania to the place he had there, and into
New York, back again. So when he was here, this was quite the place. He was my
primary mentor and a huge influence on generations of artists that came through
MICA. Something almost mythical and very gregarious, outspoken and just an
amazing human being. Incredible stories about some of those things. At times he
would mix all kinds of strange chemicals. I mean, my God, the time that he was
burning tires in here and we were pushing black smoke out into the atmosphere,
and the fire department showed up and they were really furious with Sal. AZ:
After Sal moved out, and Sal had taken me to Italy five times during the years
that I worked here in the Cork Factory as his assistant.
