The Alabama Restaurant and Hospitality Association (ARHA) represents
restaurants, lodging, tourism, and hospitality service companies throughout the
state of Alabama.

The food service, hospitality and tourism industry is the state's second-largest
employer--making ARHA members the cornerstone of Alabama's economy.

3.5.24 - A total of 20 teams comprised of hospitality and culinary students
competed this week at the Alabama ProStart Student Invitational. The annual
competition is hosted by the Alabama Restaurant and Hospitality Association
Foundation (ARHAF). A huge thank you to Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach for
hosting the event.
 
The winners of the 2024 Alabama ProStart Student Invitational are:
 
Culinary Competition:
1st Place - Albertville High School
2nd Place - Pelham High School
3rd Place - Baldwin Center for Technology 
 
Management Competition:
1st Place - Gulf Shores High School
2nd Place - Eden Career Tech Center
3rd Place - Shelby County College & Career Center
 
Best Beef Entree (sponsored by Alabama Cattlemen’s Association):
Gulf Shores High School
Best Knife Skills: South Baldwin Career Tech Center
Spirit & Teamwork Award–Culinary: Career Academies of Decatur
Spirit & Teamwork Award–Management: Calhoun County Career Academy
