The Art Of Semen

There are many art forms in the world, such as sculpture, drawing,
painting, and even human semen on a canvas! Let me repeat that,
human…..semen….on a canvas. There are a lot of weird things in the world people
and this is one of them! Trust me I know, I’m a blogger.

An artist from University Of Buffalo Named Cole Pawlowski has shown a
new form of expressing his opinions in his art. Warning you might cringe after
this sentence. A piece called “37 Ejacalations: with Pollock in Mind” contains
human semen that is dripped onto a canvas to create different types of abstract
patterns. Pawlowski wants to expose the nature of the human body and its natural
fluids. He also believes that everyone should “aid in the demystification of
human sexuality and the eventual ridding of our embarrassment pertaining to
natural bodily functions.”

Many have seen this art that Pawlowski has created and find it
“disgusting” and others encourage the experimental side of this type of art. His
response towards the negativity is mature and courageous.  “I have nothing to be
ashamed of,” he said. “I am proud of the art that I make, and I will continue to
create no matter how the public responds, and if they choose not to support me
or my art form, then that is perfectly okay.” Wish I can say that for my own
work, good job Pawlowski!

Cole Pawlowski also have a few other pieces that pertains to the same
type of technique which are called  “The Feel Good Constellations” and “The
Eight Lonely and Not So Lonely Little Yellow Islands.”.

Overall I think that there shouldn’t be a line to what a person think
is art, art is a way for someone to express his/hers opinion and everyone should
have there own way of showing it. In this case his was using sperm to create
awareness of how society finds the human body disgusting or make it seem
shameful. Cole Pawlowski is another artist who isn’t scared to express his
opinion even though many disagree, but no matter what, he stays the same and I
respect that in a person.
