USA MANUFACTURERS HAVE MILLIONS OF UNSOLD N95 MASKS

U.S.' Largest Manufacturer of N95 Masks Says Company Has Millions of Unsold
Units
Newsweek
By Julia Marnin
Posted: 23 April 2021 at 1:45 PM EDT

QUOTE:
Prestige Ameritech, the country's largest N95 mask manufacturer based in Fort
Worth, Texas, has millions of unsold masks, according to CEO Mike Bowen, the
Associated Press reported.

Bowen said that his company is not alone as other U.S. manufacturers have
stockpiles of unsold N95 masks due to an increase in investments into the
medical device during the pandemic.

"While nurses pleaded for clean masks, American N95 makers were filling their
warehouses with N95s that hospitals weren't buying," Bowen said, according to
AP. "Starting today, America's healthcare workers can and should demand clean,
new N95 masks. The N95 mask shortage is over."

WHY NOT JUST ABANDON QUESTIONS RE GENDER?

Why NOT just abandon questions re gender?

It is becoming far TOO complicated to deal with endless demands of LGBTQ2S etc !

Gender does NOT affect where people sit on airplanes.

We can address people either by first name & last name or just first name or
just last name.

We can avoid using individual choices of pronouns like the plague !

TECH COMPANIES SHOULD NOT POLICE THE INTERNET

Tech Companies should NOT police the Internet.

I do NOT think that Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be censoring/deleting
any posts/pics/videos on the Internet unless a legal warrant is issued.

Lawyers should be prepared to challenge whether or not any legal warrant exceeds
the authority of any country's constitution rather than automatically complying.

It is dangerous that some news media & some citizens expect social media
companies to police the internet & even criticize speed at which they do so
whenever they object to some content that they find offensive to their
viewpoints.

It is NOT the responsibility of any company to determine limits of Free Speech.

I do NOT want any company to have the power to limit Free Speech on the
Internet.

POPE FRANCIS - FAVOURITE MOVIE - LA STRADA BY FELLINI

Today on Turner Classic Movies TCM, I watched La Strada 1954 by Federico Fellini
starring Anthony Quinn.

In interviews, Pope Francis  has said this was his favourite movie.

The following article is very thorough in discussing why this movie of mercy
would appeal to Pope Francis.

https://catholickey.org/2016/10/07/8803/

It has "implicit reference to St Francis"

"Fellini’s Franciscan religious which demands that compassion be felt even for
the greatest, ugliest sinner"

QUOTE:
Mercy is the only reasonable response to this radical compassion that La Strada
makes us feel, and I believe that this is why Pope Francis loves this film. When
we meet someone who is simultaneously a monster and a human being, who cries out
for love even though he has only dispensed hate, we can only respond with mercy,
because justice would simply ignore his cry.
UNQUOTE:

Some info re La Strada (1954) on IMDB website:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047528/

"Won the first ever Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film."

"Director Bille August cites "La Strada" as the film that first made him want to
work in film when he saw it while still in school."

"Sam Peckinpah said La Strada was a film he would like to have made."

MOVIE "A BOY AND HIS DOG"-1975 STARRING DON JOHNSON

Watching one of my favourite movies, "A Boy and His Dog" - 1975
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072730/

SilverScreenClassics channel plays it every now & then
http://www.silverscreenclassics.com/schedule.php
@SSCtv

Stars:       Don Johnson,  Jason Robards & Susanne Benton
Director:  L.Q. Jones

Review by Roger Ebert in 1976 - 2 1/2 stars
https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/a-boy-and-his-dog-1976

QUOTE:
"A Boy and His Dog" is a weird, offbeat sci-fi movie about one of the genre's
favorite subjects: the survivors of a nuclear holocaust. The year is 2024 (a
year the ads inform us, rather optimistically, we'll probably live to see), and
America has been buried under a deep covering of radioactive dust. On the
surface, roaming bands of marauders kill each other for women and canned goods.
A half-mile below, domed cities preserve -- or should I say embalm -- a ghastly
parody of middle-class life.

The boy of the title is Vic (Don Johnson), who's spent 18 years struggling to
survive on the surface. The dog is Blood, a cheerful mutt who can communicate
telepathically
UNQUOTE:

QUOTE:
"A Boy and His Dog" is based on a well-known novella by Harlan Ellison, onetime
enfant terrible of science fiction and a practitioner of new-wave s-f, in which
biological and reproductive functions of men and women are considered at least
as important as those of bug-eyed monsters. The story seemed almost to defy
filming, but it's been successfully visualized by L.Q. Jones.

UTAH "FREE-RANGE PARENTING" LAW-1ST IN USA

I am very happy to read about Utah "Free-range parenting" law - 1st in USA.

Included activities cover children who "walk, run or bike to and from school,
travel to commercial or recreational facilities (or) play outside and remain at
home unattended"

http://nationalpost.com/news/free-range-parenting-utahs-new-law-a-first-in-the-u-s-lets-parents-trust-their-kids-with-unsupervised-activities

Kids can have childhood like I enjoyed in 1950s !

We always walked to and from school - starting in Kindergarten at 5 yrs old.
Dad gave each of us Timex watches & taught us to tell time before we started
school.

We also went to the corner store by ourselves to spend our allowance - a penny a
day actually bought candy back then.  Chips or chocolate bars were only 5 cents.

We rode our tricycles & roller-skates round and round our block.  We also went
to the playground by ourselves.  Same for going to the nearby outdoor rink.

When I was in Gr2 and my brother in Gr1, our parents regularly gave us money to
take the bus to and from an outdoor swimming pool - which had staff and
lifeguards.

QUOTE:

The Juniper BBQ Scraper is a safe natural BBQ grill cleaner. As you use the
Juniper BBQ Scraper, grooves form matching your grill. It is these grooves that
offer a deep clean without the risk of dangerous bristles getting into your
food.

Each Juniper BBQ Scraper is handcrafted from 100% Canadian juniper (tamarack)
which is locally harvested from sustainable forests. Juniper is more durable and
longer lasting than cedar and not as difficult to use as oak or birch products
which makes it perfect for a long lasting BBQ grill cleaner.

The Juniper BBQ Scraper won't damage your BBQ grill and is easy to clean. Treat
it like your favourite wood cutting board and it should last for many BBQ
seasons.

Pick one up from a local retailer or order online.

WILL BOYCOTT NEW CANADA $10 BILL RE VIOLA DESMOND

Will boycott new Canada $10 bill re Viola Desmond to be unveiled this Thursday

Stocked-up with $10 bills at bank today

Will only accept change in old $10 bills or other denominations

https://www.bankofcanada.ca/banknotes/banknoteable-woman/

QUOTE:
As Viola Desmond is featured on the $10 note, and another iconic Canadian will
be featured on the future $5 note, Canada’s first Prime Minister, Sir John A.
Macdonald, and our first francophone Prime Minister, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, will
be honoured on our higher value bank notes. This will take place when the higher
value notes are redesigned.

These changes mean that former prime ministers William Lyon Mackenzie King and
Sir Robert Borden will no longer be portrayed on bank notes. The $20
denomination will continue to feature the reigning monarch.
