DEFI PROTOCOLS EXACTLY, HARBOR HACKED IN SEPARATE ATTACKS

Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols Exactly and Harbor were exploited in two
separate attacks on August 18, resulting in significant losses. Exactly Protocol
lost 4323.6 Ether (ETH), worth nearly $7.3 million, which was stolen and then
bridged using the Across Protocol and the Ethereum network via Optimism Bridge.
The attacker targeted the DebtManager periphery contract, bypassing the permit
check and executing a malicious deposit function to steal user assets. Harbor,
an interchain stablecoin protocol, also suffered an attack resulting in the loss
of funds from its stable-mint, stOSMO, LUNA, and WMATIC vaults. The amount
stolen remains unclear. These attacks follow a series of security incidents
across the DeFi ecosystem, including a $61 million theft from Curve Finance and
losses of $287,000 and $2.1 million from Earn.

🚨 JUST IN: Lawyers representing FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) have
requested that he be allowed to leave detention five days a week to work on his
defense.

They argue that SBF needs this time to review case-related documents, which is
challenging in his current imprisonment at the Metropolitan Detention Center in
Brooklyn.

SBF faces charges of fraud, with his trial set to start in October.
