TRANSPLANT QUALITY FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS: OCTOBER 18, 2022

The Transplant Quality Institute’s Foundational Concepts course provides
educational programming for newcomers as well as a refresher course to those who
would like to ensure they have the fundamental building blocks in place for a
comprehensive Transplant Quality Program.

TRANSPLANT QUALITY INSTITUTE: OCTOBER 19-21, 2022

The 8th Annual Transplant Quality Institute (TQI) remains true to its founding
mission of providing high-quality education and resources to professionals
responsible for transplant quality and patient safety. This three-day meeting,
designed for professionals with transplant quality experience, is also suitable
for those new to transplant quality when combined with the Transplant Quality
Foundational Concepts course.

ACCOMODATIONS:

The Hilton Atlanta offers centrally located hotel rooms in downtown Atlanta near
the most famous attractions and world class dining in Georgia. The hotel is a
preferred hotel of the Georgia Aquarium, a mile away. Guests can enjoy the
fitness center, jogging tracks, and tennis and basketball courts.

Hotel reservations should be made online at https://book.passkey.com/go/6d71431d
prior to September 27, 2022. The group rate is $229 for single or double
occupancy plus 16.5% tax per night. Inquire about the hotel’s cancellation
policy to avoid a penalty.


OBJECTIVES

Following the one-day Foundational Concepts course participants will be able to:

 * Describe the essential aspects of transplant rules and regulations, QAPI
   structure, quality metrics, adverse event management, and QAPI reports
 * Discuss specific policies and regulations related to Transplant Quality
 * Identify emerging challenges within transplant quality programs


Following the three-day Transplant Quality Institute Conference participants
will be able to:

 * Discuss current and new initiatives of OPTN/UNOS
 * Describe current and new SRTR performance metrics
 * Explain the new CMS OPO outcome metrics
 * Describe the NASEM report regarding kidney transplants and possible
   implications for transplant quality
 * Describe the impact of broader sharing on transplant programs and OPOs
 * Describe efforts to improve quality surveillance and reporting by leveraging
   EMR technology
 * Describe utilization strategies of organs from Covid-19 donors
 * Describe how the transplant program could participate in their hospital
   donation council
 * Discuss the implications of broader use of DCD donors
 * Describe how the Improving Renal Outcomes Collaborative is driving quality in
   pediatric kidney transplantation
 * Discuss how increasing numbers of value-based care models are impacting
   transplant programs
 * Describe how health care workers can develop resilience
