2021 Results. According to the 2021 financial report, Rosenergoatom’s (Rosatom
company operating all Russian NPPs) total revenue exceeded 528.4 billion rubles,
which is 14.3% higher than last year due to Leningrad NPP Unit 6 commissioning,
as well as the recovery in demand after the pandemic. Net profit for 2021
exceeded 149.293 billion rubles, while gross profit surpassed 240.267 billion
rubles.
Icebreakers. A ceremony of laying the keel of a floating dock for universal
Project 22220 nuclear icebreakers took place in Istanbul, Turkey. Construction
of the dock, including its delivery to Russian Murmansk, will take 29 months.
The floating dock is one of the key elements of the coastal infrastructure for
servicing nuclear-powered icebreakers.
Nuclear Medicine. Rusatom Healthcare (part of Rosatom) received a registration
certificate from the Russian Heath Ministry for the radiopharmaceutical drug
Fluorodeoxyglucose, 18-F., which is called the “molecule of the century.”
Fluorodeoxyglucose solution is intended for intravenous injection for positron
emission tomography (PET). The drug is effective for the early detection and
diagnosis of a wide range of cancers.
