I absolutely live for the opening day of turkey season. The temperatures are
climbing, the snow is melting and the birds are becoming vocal! This year was no
exception. We lit out the door at 4:30 on opening day. It’s about 1 ½ hours from
our door to our hunting grounds and we wanted to ensure we were the first ones
to the area to stake claim. We had been scouting the area for the month prior
and had a good idea of where we wanted to go. We typically find birds in the
