Home Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Stacy Lobl 481894 REVIEW HISTORY FOR ANONYMOUS Stacy Lobl Write a Review Back to Community anonymous Resident • 2009 - 2010 6/9/2010 HORRIBLE LANDLORD--STAY AWAY I will start off by saying that I've lived in many apartments in my life, none of which was what you would call luxury, and that I am not a particularly picky person. Yet, I have to say that Stacy Lobl is by far THE WORST landlord I've come across in my life, and that she far surpasses my worst nightmare of a landlord. The building is old and very terribly kept, somehow I doubt that it would pass the city inspection if one were to take place. Cement and painting is peeling and falling off, the basement is constantly leaking in the winter, the windows have never been washed since the building was built (probably 100 years ago), etc. While some of the units have newer appliances, they certainly do not compensate for the overall terrible quality of the apartment. Over the past year alone, both the water heater and the furnace broke down. It took numerous phone calls from all tenants to get Stacy to get them fixed--as it always does to get her to fix things. As is the case with all old apartments, things break. In my experience, it took many, many phone calls and emails to get her to fix stuff. Sometimes it took her 6 months to fix something, other times things just didn't get done at all and I gave up when it was not life-threatening. When things do get fixed, they're done the cheapest way out there--for instance, using duct tape to keep broken windows together. She is seriously the most irresponsible, forgetful landlord I've ever come across: doesn't return phone calls, doesn't get things done even when she says they will, sends the maintenance guy without first letting you know when he'll be entering your apartment (can be a "nice" surprise if you happen to be sleeping or in the shower at that time). Sometimes she forgets to pay her bills--for example, our water was almost shut off by the city water authority because she was delinquent in paying the bill. For that reason, if you are considering renting an apartment here, please do inspect it closely a priori, as things will not get fixed even if Stacy promises otherwise. Prior to the move in, only the most superficial cleaning is done, leaving dust behind furniture, sticky surfaces, peeling paint and dirty windows. Aside from the poor quality of the apartment, the terrible landlord, and the maintenance, there are some noise issues. If your windows face Neville street directly, you will constantly hear buses, cars, the trains, as well as the partying undergrads in the neighborhoods late night on weekends. The apartments are poorly heated in the winter, partly because the thermostat is controlled by Stacy, and partly because of the poor insulation of the building. About safety: I usually feel safe in this neighborhood, but several months ago we had an attempted robbery--I am not sure if this is an isolated incidence or a reflection of a general trend, but I did want to mention it. The only positive thing I can say about the apartment is the location, which is very conveniently close to CMU and Pitt, and there are plenty of buses stopping around the corner.
