MATRIX WORLD INTEGRATES BNB SMART CHAIN!

12-15

Matrix World announces the integration of BNB Smart Chain as part of the
upcoming Castle Build. We are excited to announce the integration of BNB Smart
Chain (formerly known as Binance Smart Chain) into Matrix World with our
upcoming Castle Build. The addition of this chain is expected to go live next
week. This integration aligns with our broader vision to establish Matrix World
as a leading multichain metaverse, welcoming projects and communities from
across the Web3 space, irrespective of their blockchain preference. The BNB
Smart Chain (BSC), launched by Binance in September 2020, operates parallel to
the BNB Beacon Chain and is used for governance purposes. As an Ethereum Virtual
Machine (EVM)-compatible chain, BSC leverages Ethereum’s toolset and offers fast
transaction processing with 3-second block times and typically achieving
finality within 2 blocks. The BSC 2024 roadmap aims to reduce gas fees by 10x
and increase transactions per second (TPS) to 10,000 by mid-2024, further
enhancing its appeal for Matrix World integration. The market trend shows a
growing popularity of BSC, particularly due to its connection with Binance, one
of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges. This integration offers significant
opportunities to increase our visibility in the cryptocurrency market and align
with current trends like inscriptions, while also maintaining a stable network
with low transaction fees and high demand. As a part of the BSC update, Matrix
World will also introduce the ability to create inscriptions in world. This will
enable landowners and registered users to create personalized memorabilia
related to Matrix World. BNB Smart Chain complements our existing chains
Ethereum (ETH) and Flow (FLOW), which were introduced during our initial launch
in late 2021. Integrating BSC will not affect existing land holdings or the land
supply within Matrix World. We are also updating our Wallet UI/UX to enable
future integrations with more chains and additional wallet support, allowing
users to interact with their preferred chains as they choose. The addition of
BSC is a step towards our larger vision of making Matrix World a highly
interoperable, multichain metaverse that will support numerous blockchain
networks, aided by the Matrix SDK and Matrix App System. We’re excited to add
BSC as the first of many chains to come. To establish Matrix World as a
welcoming metaverse for developers, we are dedicated to creating robust tools.
Developers will have access to the Matrix Software Development Kit (SDK), which
not only supports multichain integration but also accommodates a wide range of
game engines, including Unity. This approach offers greater flexibility and
ensures a seamless onboarding experience. The SDK provides developers with the
necessary tools to interact with various blockchain networks, enhancing the
versatility and functionality of the apps they develop. It also includes a
comprehensive toolkit that simplifies app development, particularly in terms of
blockchain compatibility. By using the Matrix SDK, developers gain access to
standard Matrix World services, such as user authentication, social networking
features, voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) services, and more. The Matrix App
System, currently under development, aims to transform Matrix World into a
central social hub. It will onboard and connect all web-compatible apps as
Matrix World Apps. The Matrix App System will be powered by our Matrix SDK,
enabling developers to easily interact with the Matrix World host and seamlessly
load their apps within the Matrix World 3D space. Our mini-games, as featured in
our upcoming ‘’ release, will serve as showcases for this approach. About
Matrix World Matrix World, established in 2021 by its parent company Matrix
Labs, is its first and only multichain metaverse. Matrix World was created with
accessibility in mind, not limiting developers and end-users to one blockchain.
Each parcel is powered by its own computational power and storage resources
providing the user complete control over what is built and the lifecycle of the
objects on their land. In February of 2022, Matrix World successfully raised
$5.5M from 17 investors in angel-round funding at a $50M valuation to support
the growth and development of the Matrix World project. To learn more about

CASTLE BUILD UNVEILED: MATRIX WORLD’S EXCITING NEW CHAPTER

12-14

Today, we proudly introduce the second major update to Matrix World, the Castle
Build. This release is packed with a range of new features, including minigames,
avatar customization, and an inscription service, which we will start rolling
out in the coming weeks. Matrix World Roadmap The Castle Build will be exclusive
to Landowners. However, Matrix World is set to open to the public in our
forthcoming Social Build, slated for release in Q1 2024. With the launch of
Castle Build, the Matrix World team has opted for a new release strategy. For
this release, and possibly future ones depending on the community feedback from
the Castle Build launch, we plan to release key features as soon as they are
developed and ready. This approach will grant Landowners early access to new
features, allowing them to enjoy these updates without waiting for the entire
build to be completed; our first two features are targeted for release before
the end of this year. Additionally, it gives Landowners the opportunity to help
shape Matrix World by providing valuable feedback to our team during the early
stages of feature development. Matrix World — Concept Art Key features set for
release with the Castle build include the Avatar Editor, an Avatar PFP
Inscription Service, the integration of a new blockchain network, the Instance
System, the Hoverboard Race and Crystal Caves Minigames, and Lobbies, as
detailed below. Avatar Editor: As the world evolves, so do the customization
options for our users. With this release, we introduce a wide range of clothes
and accessories to bring your avatar to life! These items include hair, tattoos,
tops, bottoms, shoes, hats, masks, and more. We’re excited to see the
combinations that the community comes up with. Avatar Editor Avatar PFP
Inscription: Never before seen in a metaverse, Matrix World will allow users the
option of inscribing their avatar as a PFP (Profile Picture) permanently
on-chain using inscriptions. Inscriptions have become a popular method for
storing immutable, arbitrary data inside a transaction. They are unique in that
the ‘image’ is stored directly on-chain and does not rely on an external
database like IPFS or Arweave. In our case, this data is a picture of the user’s
avatar, stored forever! BNB Smart Chain Integration: It’s with much excitement
that we announce the integration of BNB Smart Chain (BSC) into Matrix World. We
believe BSC is a great fit for Matrix World with its low transaction costs and
high throughput. This addition to our existing chains, Flow and ETH, does not
impact land supply and is part of the project’s broader vision to become a
leading multichain metaverse. We believe that by adding more chains and
providing access to our Matrix SDK, we will welcome a broader range of Web3
communities and builders. For more information, please read our article
linked below. BNB Smart Chain Integration UI Update: You’ll notice that the
Castle Build also comes with a user interface refresh, featuring a more modern
look that complements our Matrix World styling. This update will be reflected in
all areas of the world! Instance System: A key feature of the Castle build is
the introduction of instances, which provide access to segregated computational
resources distinct from those managing the world itself. For example, our
minigames operate on their own instances. This means that even under heavy load,
these dedicated resources will not impact users in other areas of the world.
Instances will be utilized throughout Matrix World for various environments,
including minigames (Hoverboard Race & Crystal Caves), rooms in buildings, NFT
galleries, and more. Minigames: As discussed above, the Castle Build has
introduced the concept of ‘instances’. The minigames we are introducing depend
on these instanced spaces and showcase the potential of such spaces within
Matrix World. Hoverboard Race: In this player-versus-player hoverboard race,
players compete to be the first crossing the finish line through a track filled
with power-ups and various obstacles. Players can choose to play solo or with up
to five friends, using their collected special abilities to gain an edge over
their competitors. Some of these items include Slime, Electrical Barrier, and
Shield, each providing strategic advantages during the race. Hoverboard Race
Concept Art Crystal Caves: A 1–4 player game set within the Matrix. Players aim
to mine their way through the Crystal Caves in search of a rich lumen crystal
vein, using tools like a mining laser and scanner, which can be modified and
upgraded along the way. The game challenges players with different types of
blocks that either help or hinder progress. The objective is to find the Lumen
Ore block before running out of charge on your tools. In-game image from
Crystal Caves Lobbies: Lobbies are interior spaces within buildings around the
world, serving as the primary interface for navigating the building you are
visiting. Every lobby will be equipped with an elevator to select your
destination within the building. Additionally, each lobby will have customizable
items, including the color (to match the exterior), as well as various objects
and decorations. During the castle build launch, the team will showcase lobbies
with limited features inside example buildings around the world. Lobbies
Concept Art The Castle build update provides important features for the
long-term success of Matrix World, with items such as instances being showcased
by minigames, the ability to personalize your avatar, and lobbies to navigate
throughout buildings. We look forward to seeing users race around the hoverboard
track and mine their way to the lumen source! About Matrix World Matrix World,

(CSO & Co-Founder) outside the University of Alberta replica building. 2. The
Matrix World team then discussed the upcoming Castle Build, emphasizing its
significance in the metaverse's development journey. This build introduces the
concept of "instances," which are essentially separate servers that allow users
to create without affecting the main Matrix World experience. This ensures that
any user-generated content, regardless of its complexity or optimization level,
won't disrupt the overall user experience in the main world. The Castle Build
also aims to demonstrate instance technology, with the introduction of mini
games. The team's goal is to inspire users and provide them with activities
within the metaverse, addressing the current emptiness. Additionally, the Castle
Build will feature an Avatar Creator, Lobbies, Instance Rooms V1, and potential
partner airdrops. Updated Roadmap (first half) 3. Personal identity takes a
digital form with the Avatar Editor, a feature enabling users to craft their
virtual representations. The Matrix World team demonstrated this tool,
highlighting its role in enhancing individuality and social interaction within
the world. The Avatar Editor isn’t merely a customization utility; it’s a
gateway to personal expression, allowing users to navigate and interact with the
digital world while showcasing their unique identity. Users will have the option
to select from male, female and non-binary, with a diverse range of free outfits
to suit their online identity. To learn more about our avatar design process,
please see our  article. Avatar Editor Demonstration 4. The livestream not only
highlighted structural and aesthetic features but also unveiled the first
mini-game: Hoverboard Race. In this game, which is still under development,
users compete against each other, dodging obstacles and utilizing unique special
abilities to outpace their competitors. The Hoverboard Race aligns with the
team’s objective to demonstrate the capability of instanced spaces while
providing users with engaging activities. Hoverboard Race Demonstration 5. The
Social Build phase of Matrix World’s development is centered around enhancing
the platform’s interactivity. Michael emphasized that this phase is all about
“getting social.” With the foundational systems now in place, the team aims to
invite more users, fostering a space where they can socialize, interact, and
engage with one another. The Social Build will introduce Modular Buildings,
allowing landowners without 3D skills to place buildings on their land. The team
also plans to introduce additional games, including a café-style game designed
for social interaction, and a quest system. The discussion touched on the
technical challenges of accommodating a larger user base, with Alvin
highlighting the importance of network transportation, client-side optimization,
and game service optimization. The marketing perspective, as shared by Kyle,
emphasized the significance of opening to the public, as it allows for
user-generated content, creating a natural networking effect and making the
platform more “sticky” for users. The conversation underscored the team’s
excitement and anticipation for the Social Build phase, viewing it as a
transformative step in Matrix World’s journey. Updated Roadmap (second half) 6.
The Homespace Build in Matrix World’s roadmap is designed to emphasize user
creativity and personalization. Michael explained that this phase is aptly named
“homespace” because it allows users to get creative primarily with art assets.
The focus during this phase will be working on platform stability, while also
producing a large range of art assets. Additionally, simple games and
activities, such as a photo booth game and a fashion game, will be introduced to
allow users to showcase their outfits and engage in social interactions. The
discussion also touched on the concept of starter homes. Michael clarified that
every user would receive a starter home. These homes represent an extension of
the avatar system, offering users a personal space to decorate and make their
own. The idea is to provide users with a space similar to a personal website,
allowing them to express themselves and customize it as they see fit. Following
the Homespace Build is the , which Michael described as the point when the
project truly coalesces. This phase is crucial as it ensures that Matrix World
delivers on its promises. Landowners will have full control over their plots and
instances, enabling them to add or remove buildings, decorate them, and utilize
them as promised. The overarching goal of this phase is to start building a
society within Matrix World. The team envisions this digital society as a place
where users can create, trade, and thrive. Furthermore, during this phase, users
will be able to make purchases related to land, floors, and rooms. The team also
hopes to introduce pets, which Michael described as the “cherry on top” of the
Matrix World experience. Overall, the Homespace Build and Real Estate Build
phases of Matrix World’s roadmap emphasize user creativity, personalization, and
the establishment of a thriving digital society. The team’s excitement and
anticipation for these phases are evident, and they look forward to seeing the
community’s engagement and creativity come to life. Livestream ft. Rehak (CMO),
Daniel (Community Manager), Rhys (Game Designer), Michael (Product director) and
Alvin (CSO & Co-Founder) inside the neighborhood. The Matrix World team thanks
the community for its support and shared their eagerness for the journey ahead.
As they steer Matrix World into its next phase, the team remains committed to
its founding vision: forging a user-centric, immersive, and ever-evolving
digital world where the only limit is the collective imagination of its users.
