The Broc Four Thanksgiving sets your dinner table for every course and plate. 



It comes with one bottle each of the 2021 Vine Starr Zinfandel, 2021 Kou Kou,

The Amore Bianco, with its skin contact, showcases a textured white with
tropical fruit and a dry finish. 








 
The Lagrein Rosé is released during the fall season each year. With its dark
strawberry and savoury spice, it is sure to spark conversation around the table.


 
The Vine Starr Zinfandel is our flagship wine. A lighter take on Zinfandel, with
its bright acidity, brambly fruit and spice characteristic.

2022 Nouveau

Tasting notes: Swedish fish, melon, tropical fruit punch


This year’s Nouveau is a blend of everything (white, rosé and red) that we
brought in and made for our 2022 Harvest. The base of the wine is 50% Valdiguié
from Shell Creek Vineyard and 25% Orange Muscat that we began working with this
year from Hartwick Vineyard. The remaining 25% is a co-fermented blend of mixed
varieties all brought in and pressed this year. After each pressing, we captured
some juice from each lot into a stainless tank as a combination of free run and
pressing. We wanted to capture and highlight all vineyards and varieties brought
in as an example of everything we do here at Broc. Having it all together in one
bottle is a fun way to remember this past harvest. We hope you enjoy this taste
of our 2022 harvest season.

2021 Happī Chenin

Tasting notes: Laser acidity, meyer lemon pith, citrus melange

This is our third release of Happi Chenin. Each year we have been able to source
from different vineyards that grow Chenin Blanc in California soil and release
them under the Happi Chenin label. We’ve added Chardonnay and Picpoul to the
2021 release of Happi to add complexity. The Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and
Picpoul grapes were directly pressed whole cluster into neutral French oak
barrels where the juice fermented and aged for 11 months. The barrels were
topped monthly with no stirring of the lees. This wine is unfiltered to showcase
the natural texture.

VARIETIES: 85% Chenin Blanc | 8% Chardonnay | 7% Picpoul

VINEYARDS: Rosewood Vineyard + Michael Mara + Luna Matta


LOCATION: Mendocino + Sonoma + Paso Robles

2021 Lagrein Rosé

Tasting Notes: Lavender, Lychee, Berry Punch

Since we started working with Lone Pine Vineyard’s Lagrein in 2016, we have made
it differently each year. Every vintage has explored the varied expressions you
can get from this special grape and vineyard. The earlier years making this wine
resulted in a darker color, with longer skin contact. In other years we would
foot stomp then press. This year we directly pressed the grapes where the juice
fermented with only native yeasts in a combination of sandstone jar and neutral
French oak barrel. We aged the wine for 10 months. We hope you enjoy this very
special vintage.

2021 Vine Starr Zinfandel

Tasting Notes: Raspberry, Black Tea, Plum, Spice

For the 2021 vintage of Vine Starr, we de-stemmed the fruit and allowed native
fermentation to occur in 5-ton stainless steel tanks. After pressing we aged the
wine for 10 months in neutral French oak barrels. This wine is left unfined and
unfiltered and contains no added sulfur during its life or at bottling. The
result is a delightful, uplifted version of Zinfandel you are sure to enjoy.

2021 Nero D'Avola

Tasting Notes: Black Cherry, Blackberry, Orange Peel

The fruit for this year’s Nero comes from wine that was 1/3 aged on the skins in
amphora and 2/3 fermented on skins, then pressed into neutral French oak
barrels. The grapes in amphora are left on the skins through January then basket
pressed back into the amphora to develop for another 5 months. The juice in
barrel is left to age for 10 months. 

The Badger on our label plays on the Scottish Gaelic translation of Broc, which
is Badger. When we first brought in the Nero from Fox Hill, the original owner
(Lowell Stone) loved our label mentioning how much he loved animals and
critters. We love how the badger has become our winery mascot.

2021 Wirth Zinfandel

Tasting Notes: Ripe Strawberry, Green Tea, Late-Harvest Blackberry

Zinfandel first came to California during the Gold Rush. It grows beautifully
here – thriving in California’s soil. We started working with Zinfandel making
our Vine Starr, then we made a White Zinfandel and use it in our Love Rosé
blend. Two years ago we wanted to produce a wine with old vine Zinfandel.  We
love older expressions of California Zinfandel before it got a bad name for
being too high in alcohol and overly ripe. Wirth Ranch’s Zinfandel is different
from our Vine Starr – the vines are older, which produces a slightly more
concentrated wine with more tannins, notes of clove, cherry and vibrant acidity.
The old vine fruit is very special, and we are excited to share it with you once
again.

The grapes were naturally fermented with 80% whole cluster and 20% de-stemmed
fruit on top in a 5 ton stainless steel open top fermenter and pumped over the
juice twice per day. We aged the wine in 60 gallon neutral French Oak barrels
for 10 months.

2021 Sparkling Chenin Magnum

This is for a MAGNUM 1.5L, the equivalent of 2 bottles

Tasting notes: Lemon and pineapple on the nose. Crisp green apple, lime zest &
lemon on the palate.

For the 2021 vintage, we picked early in the morning and left the juice on the
skins until the afternoon, when it was pressed into stainless steel tank. We
fermented the wine until dry, then added Chardonnay must to sweeten the wine and
then bottled the juice. As it warmed up, fermentation occurred again in bottle,
providing the gorgeous bubbles. The wine was disgorged by hand with no dosage.
Our sparkling is made with love to be enjoyed until the last drop. Have fun and
drink up!

2021 Broc Valdiguié

Tasting notes: Blood Orange, Pomegranate, Apricot

Whole berry clusters went directly into our large concrete tanks. Semi-carbonic
fermentation occurred  – foot treading and pumping over every day. After
pressing we aged the wine back into concrete and neutral French oak for 10
months. Yields are very low with this planting of old vine Valdiguié. With older
plantings you get more complexity. The outcome is darker, more structured fruit
with lifting acidity. This is a wine that stands out from the rest. It is so
special to us that we have named it the Broc Valdiguié this vintage and beyond.

2021 Got Grapes White

Tasting Notes:

This year’s Got Grapes comes from a mix of white barrels, puncheons and concrete
eggs. The result is a very special blend of wines. We brought in Picpoul and
Clariette from Fernow Vineyard in Lodi for the first time this year. The grapes
were pressed together to coferment in our concrete eggs for 10 months. The
Viognier comes from J&K Vineyard in Santa Barbara, where we pressed directly
into our Austrian Stockinger puncheons where the wine fermented and aged for 10
months. Albariño grapes were pressed and fermented in neutral French oak
barrels, coming from North Canyon Vineyard and add nice aromatics to the wine.
And the Marsanne and Grenahce Blanc grapes come from Love Ranch, where they were
pressed into neutral French oak barrels to age. Malolactic fermentation was
allowed to happen naturally with all varieties. This wine was blended together
and left unfiltered and unfined. Enjoy and drink up, this will go fast!

VARIETIES: 28% Picpoul, 24% Clairette, 32% Viognier, 8% Marsanne, 5% Albariño,
3% Grenache Blanc

Our goal with Amore Rosso is to have fun - making wine from the many Italian
varieties grown at Fox Hill. We picked the red grapes that were ready to be
harvested at the same time. The intention was to make a delicious table wine,
capturing the feel of an old school classic field blend. This wine has darker,
vibrant fruit with some structure while still being bright and fresh. It also
has depth and complexity which pairs so well with food. 

VARIETIES:       31% Barbera, 28% Dolcetto, 22% Sangiovese, 19% Negro Amaro
