Setup and configuration of Winamp for streaming to your online radio station –

Among giants like iTunes and possibly VLC, Winamp is by far the most well-known
media player. It was first introduced in 1997 and has been around ever since!
Let’s take a look at what makes Winamp unique and how to configure it so that it
broadcasts to your online radio station.
WHAT MAKES WINAMP STAND OUT?
It’s been around since 1997 (that’s over 20 years!) and it’s still going strong.
There have been some changes to how it looks and works over the years, but the
core has remained the same. Since its inception, Winamp has been a media player
and broadcasting tool.
if you’re running Windows, Winamp is definitely worth a try. The application is
free, easy to use, and easy to configure with you for your radio By adding the
SHOUTcast DSP plugin, you are able to manage your tracks into playlists, control
your stream output with faders, and add effects to your stream while
broadcasting to your online station
Getting Started
In spite of being a Windows-only program, Winamp works with most modern versions
of Windows, including Windows XP (this operating system was discontinued in

Probably the most well-known media player, Winamp was and still is to this day a
free and simple broadcaster for Windows users.
Coupled with the SHOUTcast DSP plugin, it allows you to manage your tracks into
playlists, control stream output with fades, and add effects whilst broadcasting
directly to your radio station.
Broadcast either music or live talk with an external source like a microphone or
mixer.

to easily organise and route audio from iTunes, Spotify or a microphone to
places like Skype, Discord and broadcast software on your Mac. Allowing up to 64
channels, individual channel volume control and custom channel mapping, Loopback
is a great, easy to use tool for any starter or experienced
broadcasters.Loopback, which is produced by the same company as Audio Hijack,
lets you easily organize and route audio from iTunes, Spotify, and microphones
to Skype, Discord, and broadcast software on your Mac. With up to 64 channels,
individual volume control and custom channel mapping, Loopback is a great,
easy-to-use tool for any broadcaster, whether they’re a beginner or an expert.
For Loopback to work with it will need to be used alongside a broadcasting tool
such as BUTT. You can download a free trial version or purchase the full version
with a licence key.

It supports ShoutCast and IceCast and runs on Linux, MacOS and Windows.
The main purpose of butt is to stream live audio data from your computer’s Mic

to a Shoutcast or Icecast server. A recording is also possible.
it does not intend it to be a server by itself or automatically stream a set of
audio files.
