WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To be considered for Emirates cabin crew you’ll need to be:

 * Fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages are an advantage)
 * A natural team player with a personality that shines
 * At least 160cm tall and able to reach 212cm high
 * Able to meet the UAE’s employment visa requirements
 * At least 21 years old

And have:

 * At least 1 year of hospitality or customer service experience
 * A minimum of high school (Grade 12) education
 * No visible tattoos while in Emirates cabin crew uniform

RECRUITMENT DAY PROCESS

 * Introduction– Our recruitment team provide an overview of the role; helping
   you understand what to expect while working as Cabin Crew with Emirates and
   life in Dubai.
 * Assessment– Complete group activities and an online test at the venue.
 * Final Interview– This is our chance to learn more about you and your
   motivation to work at Emirates as cabin crew.

 

 ** If you are successful, you will be required to provide the following
documents to fast-track your application process. It is recommended that you
have digital copies of the following documents on your phone available to share
with the recruitment team on the day.

 * Up-to-date, digital curriculum vitae (CV) in English
 * Valid ID or passport copy
 * Education certificate copy

CABIN CREW TRAINING PROCESS

Our new recruits undergo an intense seven and a half weeks of training in the
highest standards of safety and service delivery in our state-of-the-art
facility in Dubai. Learn more about the training journey.

STEP 1

INDUCTION EXPERIENCE

Duration: 3 days

As a new joiner we welcome you to your new home, Dubai and the Emirates Group.
We assist you in setting yourself up for success, all joining formalities and
offer support throughout your entire learning journey.

STEP 2

SAFETY AND EMERGENCY (SEP)

Duration: 13 days

Safety is one of our top priorities, and your training will provide you with the
skills and knowledge to ensure you, our customers and the aircraft stay safe.
SEP covers aircraft equipment, fire-fighting, in-flight emergencies and
evacuation procedures.

STEP 3

GROUP MEDICAL TRAINING (GMT)

Duration: 5 days

We at Emirates believe in being prepared for any situation. Your training will
equip you with the skills to confidently manage any emergency, including CPR,
attending to bleeding, burns, emergency childbirth and a variety of medical
conditions.

STEP 4

SECURITY TRAINING

Duration: 2 days

We don’t compromise on security, that’s why your training includes the correct
procedures, techniques and skills to prevent and manage unruly behaviour,
hijacking, sabotage and personal security, as well as implement security
measures on board.

STEP 5

EMIRATES HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE

Duration: 2 days

Hospitality is our passion at Emirates, during your training, you’ll learn to
create signature moments with excellence, enthusiasm, and attentiveness. And at
the end of the two days, you’ll be ready to deliver Emirates Hospitality with
finesse.

STEP 6

UNIFORM LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Duration: 1 day

You’re in the final stretch of training and it’s time for you to learn how to
wear the iconic cabin crew uniform and represent Emirates. Your training will
include all the details required to keep you looking immaculate and lead a
healthy lifestyle.

STEP 7

SERVICE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Duration: 14 days

The quality of our inflight service is what sets us apart from all other
airlines. You’ll learn all about the Emirates signature service at
state-of-the-art facilities that simulate what it’s like to work on board our
A380 and B777 aircraft.

Starting Salary & Flying Pay

STARTING MONTHLY SALARY: GRADE II (ECONOMY CLASS)

YOUR PAY IS MADE UP OF THREE COMPONENTS: A FIXED BASIC SALARY, AN HOURLY PAY FOR
OPERATED FLIGHTS AND AN OVERSEAS MEAL ALLOWANCE.

Basic salary
AED 4,835 / month
Flying Pay
AED 66.30 / hour  based on avg. 80-100 hours / month
Average monthly Pay
AED 10,802 / month  (~USD 2,940, EUR 2,755 or GBP 2,330)
* These are approximate numbers for Grade II (Economy Class)
Meal allowances for night stops are credited to the salary in arrears the
following month. Hotel accommodation as well as transport to and from the
airport is provided by the company.
Concessional travel

CONCESSIONAL TRAVEL

Staff travel benefits on Emirates Airline can be availed as per the Staff Travel
Manual. Staff travel benefits on other airlines can be availed as per
inter-airline agreements/policies.

Accommodation

ACCOMMODATION

Furnished accommodation is provided free of charge, including utilities -water,
electricity. Two/three colleagues (same gender) share a two/three bedroom
apartment and each have their own bedroom but share the kitchen and the living
area. Two people may have to share a second bathroom in some three-bedroom
apartments.

Once probationary period is complete you may request to move to another
apartment pending availability. Due to varying rosters of occupants and to
ensure security, there are no visitors allowed past 01:00 unless they are
Emirates (EK) crew. You may have two family members visit at the same time and
stay in your accommodation twice a year for a maximum of 30 days each visit.

Transport

Transportation is provided by the company to/from work and to/from Training
College

Leave & Leave Travel

LEAVE & LEAVE TRAVEL

30 calendar days leave per year. One firm free annual leave ticket is provided
to your country of origin. The ticket can be changed to any EK destination after
3 years of service.

Medical and Insurance

MEDICAL AND INSURANCE

All Cabin Crew are insured on a 24-hour worldwide basis under life insurance and
personal accident insurance policies.

Emirates provides all Cabin Crew with a comprehensive package for medical and
dental services at the designated Emirates Clinics.

Emirates provides a non-contributory end of service benefit (EOSB) (a lump sum
of money assessed according to salary scale) on completion of the term of your
contract.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If I am not successful in the assessment, can I reapply?

If you are not successful in your current assessment, you can reapply after 3
months.

If selected to join Emirates as Cabin Crew what medical tests are required?

Prior to joining, you will be required to complete a self-declaration medical
form. If additional information is required, you may have to visit your Doctor.
A visit to the Dentist is also required to complete the dental form. Any costs
incurred as part of your medical requirements will be borne by you. Once you
join us, additional medicals will be conducted by The Emirates Group. These are
required for residence visa and also to comply with GCAA requirements.

What are promotions based on?

Cabin Crew promotions are based on assessment of performance.

Is this a rewarding career path and why?

Working with Emirates will give you endless opportunities: to meet and work with
people from over 120 nationalities; to increase your skills and rapidly advance
your career. Currently, high performing Cabin Crew have been able to attain the
position of Flight Purser within five years and many have also become trainers
in cabin service. Many people in middle and upper management joined the airline
as Cabin Crew and now work in other departments. Opportunities abound: waiting
for you to pursue them, based on performance of course!

When do you get a roster? How many days off do you get in a month?

Cabin Crew have a monthly roster and have approximately eight days off per month
in Dubai.

Are you allocated flights as soon as you join training?

You are given a roster on the day of your graduation at the end of your
training. Initially, you will fly as supernumerary so that your performance can
be observed and feedback obtained in order to identify any further training
needs prior to your first operational flight.

How often & how soon can I go home?

All employees are on probation for the first six months of their service. They
are, therefore, eligible for leave after the probation period. We fly to over
120 destinations and you could be rostered to your home country, based on
operational requirements.
