SCIENCE & RESEARCH Conducting research to enhance our understanding of wildlife populations and the biological communities on which they depend. POLICY & ADVOCACY Working to ensure our region's leaders have the proper tools to make informed decisions about the future of Southwest Florida. ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION From Pre-K through gray, the Environmental Education team teaches all ages about our environment and our impact. WILDLIFE REHABILITATION We provide medical care to more than 4,000 injured, sick, and orphaned native animals each year. WATER WIN Public’s voice and Governor’s leadership sink SB 2508 SB 2508 was vetoed by Governor Ron DeSantis, who has made Everglades restoration and water quality a priority. Thanks to the support from citizens all over the state, we were able to defeat this bill, which undermined the new Lake Okeechobee System Operations Manual (LOSOM) and natural resource protections we have all been working so diligently to implement.
