Target Audience:

This initiative will target community gastroenterology practices and reach more
than 570 gastroenterology APPs involved in the management of IBD.



Goal:

The goal of The Art of Prevention: An Update on Health Maintenance in IBD is to
deliver focused, educational updates to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) that
will highlight current vaccination and other health maintenance guidelines for
patients with IBD.



Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to: 

 * Summarize clinical practice guidelines for health maintenance strategies in
   IBD patients

 * Incorporate current health maintenance recommendations, including
   immunizations, effectively into clinical practice

 * Discuss the unique health maintenance needs of certain IBD populations,
   including pediatric/adolescent patients, elderly patients, and minority
   and/or underserved patients



Accreditation Statement:

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and
implemented by Medical Education Resources (MER) and GHAPP. MER is jointly
accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
(ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for
the healthcare team

Nursing Credit:

Medical Education Resources designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0
ANCC nursing contact hour. Nurses will be awarded contact hours upon successful
completion of the activity.



Physician Assistant Credit:

Medical Education Resources has been authorized by the American Academy of
Physician Assistants (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities
planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria.  This activity is designated for
1.0 AAPA Category 1 CME Credit.  Physician Assistants should only claim credit
commensurate with the extent of their participation.
