used against enemies. It was released in November 2001 for Nintendo's Game Boy
Advance and was followed by a sequel, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, in 2002. Golden
Sun is a series of fantasy role-playing video games developed by Camelot

The series has received a generally favorable reception by critics. The first
Golden Sun game has been widely lauded as among the best games for the Game Boy
Advance, with the first game receiving Nintendo Power’s Best GBA Game of 2001
and ranking in IGN’s Readers Choice Top 100 games ever, as number 94. The Lost
Age performed even better than its predecessor, ranking 78 on IGN’s Readers
Choice Top 100 games ever. Dark Dawn, while still scoring highly on Metacritic’s
aggregation of critic scores, was less well received. Sales figures for the
first two Golden Sun games exceeded one million in the United States and Japan,
a figure that Dark Dawn failed to exceed. Like the main Pokémon RPGs, it has two
gameplay modes unlike the main RPGs, battle mode and the Golden Sun games,
players guide a cast of characters as they journey through a fantasy-themed
world, interact with other characters, battle monsters, acquire increasingly
powerful magic spells and equipment, and take part in a building, predefined
narrative. Much of the game’s time spent outside of battle takes place in
dungeons, caves, and other locales, which generally require the player to find
items that grant the bearer new forms of “Psynergy”, or magical spells, in order

We’ve talked in other Insights about Raw parameters as being ‘development’
tools. When it comes to Raw, many colorists just want to get to a good starting
point for the rest of their grade. RCM still works with Raw footage and as I’ll
show you in the video, it’s just a different approach to how you’ve probably
worked before in a non-managed workflow – and just like I mentioned in my
previous Insight, you’re under no requirement to work with RCM! Getting To A
Starting Point (RED Is Just A Bit Different) Next, in both managed and
non-managed workflows, you have a lot of control over the quality of Raw
processing (debayering) and of course, you have access to Raw controls to
massage a shot to your liking.īut with some Raw Formats like RED or Cinema DNG
where you can assign color space and gamma settings for the Raw footage in the
Raw panel, you don’t have those controls (grayed out, or not functional) in an
RCM workflow because Resolve is automatically handling that processing for you.
So, what happens with RAW in an RCM workflow is that Resolve processes the Raw
data automatically for you into your timeline/output color space, and it does
this with very high precision preserving all of the Raw image data via a
computational transform. The Input Color space allows you to assign or reassign
a color space to a clip based on what’s ‘right’ for a particular clip(s).Īgain,
with Raw footage because of the availability of SDKs by each camera
manufacturer, Resolve knows exactly how to handle that data on input. Resolve
does a very good job most of the time of guessing the colorimetry details of
video files in a non-managed workflow, but with RCM you have the ability to be
explicit about how that file should be handled on input by changing the Input
Color Space for any clip(s). Just because its ProRes doesn’t mean color space
and gamma information is explicit.

On the other hand, with a video file, the colorimetry could be anything.įor
example, a ProRes file could be in Rec 709, Rec 2020, Log C, or any other color
space. Software developers and apps like Resolve know exactly the colorimetry of
an Arri Raw, Red or Sony Raw shot.īecause of this, the input color space
assignment is simply not needed and redundant. But the thing is, the colorimetry
of a Raw file is a well-known quantity. dng) doesn’t do a thing.īut to
understand why that it is we need to address a couple of things:įirst, as you
probably know Raw is just data/information – it’s not video per se. It’s Raw Not

thanks to my good pal & friend of MixingLight Juan Salvo for listening to my
seemingly non-stop ramblings about RCM and Raw workflows & providing some
clarity on some of the finer details of what’s going on behind the scenes in the
image processing pipeline. This Insight is to explain those findings in a bit
more detail. While I had a pretty good idea of what was going on, I needed to do
some testing and some more research. When I read the comments in the previous
post about Raw & RCM I was intrigued. Since I was just getting acquainted with
RCM, I didn’t dive into other managed workflows including working with Raw
footage. In my previous Insight, I showed the RCM workflow with a ProRes clip
where Input Color Space did indeed transform or assign a color space of a
clip(s) in the media pool. In my overview Insight On Resolve Color Management,
several members commented that when working with Raw footage things weren’t
working as they expected – namely that the Input Color Space control didn’t do

Once you accept delivery, the dozer begins to lose value immediately, with
newer, more advanced technology often replacing many of the controls and
internal systems in five years or less. And, as is the case with renting or
leasing, buying from the same dealer can get you big discounts against the base
price on current and future purchases. You also build equity, further
solidifying your businesses for future purchases. These types of situations are
often those where the machine contributes to a substantial portion of your
operation – large construction firms and full-time landscaping businesses are
two primary examples.Īmong the biggest benefits are resale value and complete
control over the use, care, and maintenance of the machine. If your pockets are
deep (or deep enough to absorb a 20% down payment), buying a bulldozer can save
you some considerable money. Plus, though many dealers will offer service and
support packages, you may be expected to pay for any replacement parts, routine
service, and repairs – not to mention insurance. So it’s best to start with a
firm understanding of your intended use and the costs it will entail over the
long-run. That said, some studies claim that you can expect to pay 20% to 30%
more for a leased machine in comparison to purchase. It’s worth noting that by
establishing a relationship with a single dealer, as mentioned in the rental
option, you may be able to negotiate for better rates, especially when leasing
multiple machines at the same time. In the same way, a capital lease will often
allow you to claim depreciation on the equipment at the end of the year.

What appeals most to landscaping pros and contractors is the potential for no
down payment on the equipment and a tax deduction that can often be taken on an
operating lease as a business expense. At the minimum, leases on construction
equipment last a year to start and extend out from there. Generally speaking,
the larger and more costly the bulldozer, the longer you can expect the lease to
last. Operating leases allow you to simply return the dozer when the lease is up
while capital leases typically include a lease-to-purchase option in the
contract.

Offering many of the same benefits of rentals, leasing a bulldozer is a popular
choice among many landscaping professionals and contractors as it enables them
to continually swap out equipment (often holding to a three-year changeover
cycle) – avoiding downtime and costs associated with repairs.īulldozer leasing
is typically available as either an operating or capital lease. Plus, depending
on your geographic location, you may be able to negotiate discounted rates on
longer contracts – especially if you establish a relationship with the dealer.
Depreciation costs are nonexistent and the equipment you or your operator will
be using is almost always new or close to it. You don’t have to absorb any of
the costs associated with maintenance, nor will you have to buy parts or pay
service/repair fees if it breaks down. There are a few other pluses when you
rent. But for jobs that extend for more than a few months, it may be more cost
effective to consider a lease. In the short-term, it’s relatively painless.
Renting is also ideal for quick jobs or seasonal work that, while profitable,
doesn’t necessitate the purchase, storage, and maintenance of the machine
year-round.

For this reason, many contractors use renting as a means of field testing before
purchasing or committing to a long-term lease. Renting a bulldozer allows you to
test drive the machine and discover whether or not it’s suited to your specific
application. This is a great first step if you plan on buying (or even leasing)
a machine – in fact, it should be a requirement before either. Here’s a
breakdown of the three options available to you – renting, leasing, and buying –
and how each can offer a series of pros and cons depending on your work volume
and intended use. With a price tag that can travel north of $300,000 for
mid-level dozers, renting or leasing can actually save money for landscaping
companies, construction outfits, and similar businesses that use the equipment
for specific jobs. But while that may be true of certain items, it’s often not
the case with bulldozers and other large construction equipment. Renting or
leasing is believed by many to be a costlier option in general, negating
long-term value without the resale benefit that comes with ownership.

I found that increasing the number would often locate documents and files that
otherwise wouldn’t pop up, but that naturally varied based on what I typed. Make
sure the switch is turned on to Enable PowerToys Run.īy default, the tool shows
you four search results in response to whatever name you type in the launcher,
but you can change this number in the field for Maximum number of results. In
the PowerToys Settings screen, click on the entry for PowerToys Run. If you’re
upgrading from a previous version or installing PowerToys for the first time,
you’ll also have to install Microsoft’s Windows Desktop Runtime, which should
happen automatically.Īfter installation, click on the PowerToys icon in the
System Tray.

Since the tool can access open windows, it replaces the Window Walker feature
introduced in a previous version of PowerToys.įirst, make sure you’re running

But with the latest version of Windows 10 PowerToys, Microsoft has cooked up yet
another way to launch a program or file. You can even ask Cortana to launch a
specific program or certain files. You can press Win+R to access the built-in
Run command and then type the full name of the application you want to open. You
can type the name of an app or file in the Search field. Naturally, you can turn
to the Start menu or Start screen. Windows provides a variety of ways to open

create your own creature, but if you just want some little dudes running around
the screen it's a great choice. There is absolutely no point to all this, but it
is quite cool. You can pick them up, drop them, throw them around, following the
laws of physics, but they will move on their own, in an actually quite lifelike
way. The creatures look a bit like voxel (triangle shaped pixel) creatures, or
perhaps some Tron characters and will happily trot around your screen to their
hearts content. Binary Toys is a simple executable file that will put one or
more creatures on your desktop.

TINYMEDIAMANAGER NOT GETTING IMDB INFO

It's a few extra steps, but it keeps my movie folders from being relocated while
giving me the granular control. After the sets folders are created by tinymm, I
copy the newly created folders in:Ĭlear out all data in them then dump the empty
set folders in either:įinally I move the processes movie folders into their

case, it would make sense that we figure out some method of setting a preferred
rating source for the library. What do I need to run tinyMediaManager v4. OMDB
does give us an actual IMDB rating (and pretty accurate too, though there is
some cache delay sometimes), but the others get 'preferred' because they have
more series data to provide. Due to the fact that it is written in Java,
tinyMediaManager will run on Windows, Linux and Mac OSX (and possible more OS).
It is written to provide metadata for Kodi (formerly known as XBMC).

The process I use now is to put all new movies in a "processing" folder.

registration. IMDB, OMDB, Universal, Kodi, and so forth. Works Offline
SeriesGuide can be used without the need to connect to the internet. I'd like to
keep my folders organized this way as I use smart playlist to make my menu items
in Kodi. tinyMM is by no means a difficult app to use, however, since there are
tons of sections and things you can do with the app, it may take a bit of time
to get used to its workflow. I was thinking about this but have my folder
structure as seen below.
