VALUE AND CONTROL

Fixed Tariffs, Electric Vehicles, Low Carbon Heat, Energy Hub

NOTES

 1. Ofgem estimates the typical household in Britain uses 2,700 kWh of
electricity, 11,500 kWh of gas or 3,900 kWh for E7 annually. Find out more
about how Ofgem works out the typical use for the energy price cap.

 2. Save around £50 with Energy Hub. Savings estimated on a sample of 2000
customers who started using Energy Hub between January 2022 and March 2022
and logged in 5+ times between April 2022-April 2023. Costs based on Ofgem's
typical annual consumption positioned against projected Standard (Variable)
consumption costs of October 2023 to September 2024. Ofgem estimates the
typical household in Britain uses 2,700kWh of electricity, 11,500kWh of gas.

 3. Energy Hub is accessible in MyAccount for customers with an account number
starting with '67 ' or 'A-'. It is available for residential smart metered
customers with electricity and gas supplied by EDF on a single-rate tariff
or those for whom EDF supplies electricity on a single-rate tariff. The
smart meter must also be commissioned.

 4. The 74% saving has been calculated on a property with an annual electricity
demand of 2700kWh. Customers who install ten 4kWp of solar panels along with
a 5.32kWh battery could save 74% on their annual energy bill (as at 16
October 2023, using the standardised guidance and calculations from MCS).
The claim is based on the following assumptions:

     * Your home is in the South West of the UK, with a south-facing roof,
that’s not shaded and is sloped at 35°
     * You have ten 405W solar panels and a 5.32kWh battery installed
     * You’re home all day with an annual electricity demand of 2700kWh per
year, pay 27.35p per kWh for your electricity unit rate (average Direct
Debit Standard Variable Rate with EDF as at 1 October 2023)
     * You use 2019kWh of 3740kWh predicted solar panel generation, which leaves
681kWh to be imported from the National Grid. This is a reduction of
around 74% on an annual electricity demand of 2700 kWh
     * It could cost a household, with an annual electricity usage of 2700kWh,
£739 to import energy from the Grid (based upon October 2023 average
Direct Debit SVT rate with EDF of 27.35p/kWh).  If the household used
2019kWh of solar PV generation and battery and imported 681Wh at
27.35p/kWh from the National Grid, it could mean their annual energy
costs would be around 74% lower at £187. In this scenario, the annual
carbon emissions of the home could decrease from 559kg CO2e to 141kg CO2e
     * Standing charges are excluded from the savings calculations

Additionally, by exporting 1721kWh of the annual 3740kWh generated by the
solar panels, the property could also receive annual SEG payments at
    5.6p/kWh of £96.

Customers will be provided with a personalised performance estimate. This
will more accurately reflect the expected generation, consumption and
savings for their property and the proposed installation for their home.
Savings depend on property type, roof type, area, location, and household
    usage.

Estimates are based upon the standard MCS procedure and given as guidance
only for the first year of generation. The estimate should not be considered
    as a guarantee of performance.

 5. Estimates are based on insulating a gas-heated detached home with a totally
uninsulated loft (0mm) with 270mm of loft insulation. The recommended depth
of mineral wool insulation is 270mm, but other materials need different
depths. The average professional installation cost is unsubsidised, but
prices will vary. Figures are based on fuel prices as of October
2023. Source: Energy Saving Trust for roof and loft insulation and cavity
    wall insulation.

 6. This excludes the Landlord BoilerCare plan.

 7. EDF's EV tariffs are backed with zero carbon renewable electricity.
Electricity for EDF's GoElectric tariff comes from renewable sources like
wind, solar, biomass, tidal and hydroelectric. At the end of each fuel mix
reporting year, EDF will make sure they've purchased enough renewable
electricity from EDF owned renewable generation to match the total volume of
electricity supplied to all their customers on the GoElectric tariff. A fuel
mix reporting year begins on 1 April and ends on 31 March the following
year. UK Fuel Mix disclosure information published by the Government
(DESNZ), recognises electricity from wind, solar and nuclear fuel produces
zero carbon dioxide emissions at the point of generation. See EDF's tariff
    table for more information.

 8. UK Fuel Mix disclosure information published by Government Department
DESNZ (PDF, 173 KB), recognises electricity from wind, solar and nuclear
fuel produces zero carbon dioxide emissions at the point of generation.

The zero-carbon electricity purchased is supplied to the National Grid.
Customers receive electricity via the National Grid, not directly from
    zero-carbon generators.

The below table summarises zero-carbon generation by company demonstrating
EDF generating 19.8%. The data supporting the table below and the % values
is sourced from a mixture of industry settlement data and the UK government
    renewable obligation database.
