NCCIH is hosted by the University of Northern BC (<a href="https://www.unbc.ca/" target="_blank" aria-label="new window">UNBC</a>) on the traditional territory of the Lheildli T’enneh in Prince George, BC.</p>

Poverty, employment, education, housing, access to health services, food security, early child development, gender, culture, and language are some of the complex and inter-related social determinants of health. News Resources * CHRONIC AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES There is a growing crisis of chronic and infectious diseases experienced by First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Ongoing systemic and structural health inequities, social exclusion, racism as well as as changes brought on by colonization are risk factors that contribute to the rise in these illnesses and poorer health outcomes among Indigenous individuals.
