I MAESTRI

Since 1973, Cassina has established a unique method for re-editing the great
classics of design by enhancing authenticity and culture, giving life to the
iconic Cassina iMaestri Collection. Officially introduced fifty years ago, this
collection finds its genesis in the process that began in 1965 with the serial
production of the first four models designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret,
and Charlotte Perriand. Over time, the collection has gathered some of the most
iconic furnishings of the 20th century with works by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld,
Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Erik Gunnar Asplund, Charlotte Perriand, Franco
Albini, Le Corbusier, Marco Zanuso, Ico Parisi, and Giacomo Balla. In 2023, on
the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Cassina iMaestri Collection expanded
to welcome new designers who have shaped the history of design and,
consequently, fully earned their place in this universe: Vico Magistretti, Gio
Ponti, Carlo Scarpa — already present in Cassina’s portfolio — and, in
anticipation of the launch of their lighting collection in 2024, Charles and Ray
Eames.
