OVERVIEW

The IFC estimates that there is a $300 billion financing gap that exists for
women-owned small businesses globally. More than 70% of women owned small and
medium sized enterprises (SMEs) have insufficient or no access to financial
services. What more can be done by financial institutions in order to address
these barriers? What role do educational institutions have to play in empowering
women?

The Financial Times, in partnership with Home Credit, will host the Closing the
Funding Gap for Women Entrepreneurs digital dialogue, to explore the role that
business leaders, financial and educational institutions have to play in
addressing the underserved potential of women entrepreneurs globally.
