WHY CHOOSE US?

Welcome to Nola James! We are a business focused on making high quality quilts
and handmade gifts for all ages. Using classic and simple quilt designs, with
modern fabrics, we create beautiful quilts that can be used everyday or saved as
a keepsake or heirloom. Most items are constructed using natural fibers such as
cotton, linen, or wool, and are pre-washed using chemical-free, textile or
hypoallergenic detergent to minimize shrinkage. We use premium label and
quilt-level fabrics to provide you with long-lasting strength and durability for
regular use. Most items are also machine washable. To reduce waste, fabric
scraps are bundled to create pillows and quilts that are donated to local
children charities and animal shelters.

ABOUT US

Amber Bond

Founder

Hi. My name is Amber, and I'm the founder of Nola James. Quilts have been a part
of my life since I was a little girl. Spending time at my grandparents house in
rural West Tennesseee, I would remember going to sleep wrapped in one of my
grandmother's quilts. Actually, we all were, all 15 of the grandchildren wrapped
in quilts, layers of them. Layers of quilts created weight that kept us warm and
gave us all the best sleep. I remember my grandmother's 70-year old treadle
machine sitting off to the side of her room. Even with a newer machine, she
still preferred to use her orignial foot-peddle. I always appreciated the work
that went into the quilts, but did not become interested in learning how to make
them myself until many years later. Once I learned, there was no turning back-I
fell in love with quilting. Quilting and crafting are not about just making
things, but about making things that are useful and beautiful. It's about taking
the time to create an item out of love that is part art and part functional. It
is with the idea of creating items out of love, that the brand Nola James was
born. The brand name is a combination of the name of my late grandmother, Nola,
and my late father, James. Two extraordinary individuals, who crafted their
lives and their work with passion and love, inspired me to build on my passion
of quilting. All items are crafted and created by me in my studio and are
crafted with the intention of creating a beautiful and memorable gift for you
and your family. Thank you for visiting my store, and I look forward to creating
something memorable for you and your family.
