The mission of the Harris County Sheriff's Office is "To enhance the safety and
protect the trust of the citizens of Harris County by enforcing the law with
integrity and professionalism."

Ed Gonzalez was elected the 30th Sheriff of Harris County in November 2016. He
is serving his second term after being re-elected to office by Harris County
voters in November 2020.
