Who in the world is The Norse? Glad you asked! The Norse is 4 Viking (esque)
guys who met in San Diego, California and started an atypical metal band. While
The Norse can generally be described as "a metal band", they write lyrics with
substance and music with a style which sets them apart from the rest of your
cookie cutter, "Justin Beiber with distortion" bands that seem to dominate
today's radio airwaves. Formed in 2021 during the pandemic by former (One
Theory) bandmates Dante Chaya (guitar) and Brad Hollis (bass) who spent a good
number of hours at the dining room table drinking, writing music and discussing
the direction of the band. After auditioning several singers and just not
clicking either personally or musically, the guys decided to try to sucker in
their former (One Theory) singer, Darren Brown into joining the band. Darren
was, around that time, in a nationally touring band (Sons on Fire) but after
some talk (and bribes with whatever might be found in a Viking drinking horn)
Darren decided to join his former bandmates. After a couple of tries with
different drummers, The guys found fellow viking and skin smasher, Matt Skillman
who indeed is...a Skilled Man. The Norse has received airplay on national radio
as well as around internet radio, and your usual suspects for media streaming.
While the members now all live in different states, The Norse has done local (to
San Diego) shows as well as multiple cities in Florida, Oklahoma and Arkansas
with no signs of stopping. Currently The Norse is gearing up to do some East
Coast touring in March of 2025.
