There are a number of possible causes for problems with QuickBooks that could be
taking longer than usual. Review some of the options to find out what will be
the best troubleshooting step for you. Here are some possible reasons.

QuickBooks application is not updated.
The computer does not meet the minimum system requirements, especially low RAM.
Your company files have reached the maximum size limit.
Damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file.
Corrupted hard drive.
Damaged program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation problems.
Damaged Windows operating system.
Let’s troubleshoot each one of these issues starting with the first one.
QuickBooks Version Minimum System Requirements
For QuickBooks Desktop users:
QB Desktop Pro offers a minimum of 1 user and a maximum of 3 users, similarly,
Premier 1 to 5 users and Enterprise offer 1 to 30 users. (Runs on Windows 10,
8.1 and Windows servers 2019)

RAM needs to be increased as the number of users increases in your organization.
For example, you need at least 4 GB of RAM for 1 to 3 users and 8 GB of RAM for
4 or more users to access the company data folder at the same time.

Online users:
QuickBooks Online is a web-based application that runs on any browser and
Operating System.

Although QuickBooks Online is a complete web-based service, it requires the
processing power of your device's memory (RAM) and a high-speed internet
connection. We will look into the various possibilities of QuickBooks Online
loading slow and how to speed up its performance of it.

MAC Users:
QuickBooks 2020 is a new version of the program that comes with a 1 user license
capability for the latest version of the Macintosh operating system.

This program is designed for MAC computers. It requires a minimum of 4 GB memory
(RAM).

Troubleshooting steps to the complaint of QuickBooks opening slowly
There are several reasons why QuickBooks takes a long time to open. If you

Solution 1: Upgrading the computer to meet QB Requirements
Upgrade your computer's hard drives to solid-state drives.
Make sure you use a 64-bit computer, and an additional fast clock speed of
2.2GHz or more.
Increase the Ram of your computer to 8GB or higher, depending on your needs.
Accelerate your network connection with rotational speed above 7,500 rpm.
Solution 2: Install the QB Diagnostic tool
Let’s try the QB diagnostic tool to identify and fix issues with .NET Framework,
MSXML, and C++ on Windows systems.

Here’s How:

Find the diagnostic tool that corresponds to your learning preferences.
Save it on your computer.
Close all programs.
Run the QBinstall tool.
Update all your extensions and components before rebooting your PC
Open QB on the computer and see if the diagnostic tool has been helpful with
performance. Or continue to troubleshoot by following the next steps mention
below.

Solution 3: Rename the QBWUSER.ini file
If QB starts running sluggishly on your system, you could try changing the name
of the QBWUSER.ini file to fix the issue.

Find your QuickBooks file in the folders where Intuit keeps them. It will be
named QBWUSER.ini and it is saved under a folder that is called "QuickBooks
[year]."
Rename the .ini file by right-clicking and selecting Rename. Then add .old to
end of the name so it looks like QBWUSER.ini.old
You also need to find and rename the EntitlementDataStore.ecml file.
After clicking Close this window and reopen QuickBooks Desktop to allow it to
recreate the files.
Solution 4: Reinstall QuickBooks using the Clean Install Tool
If you are experiencing issues with your company file or application, running
the Clean Install Tool is the best option. It restores your software to an
earlier state and replaces any damaged files on your device.

Open the Start menu by pressing the Windows icon.
Find your Control Panel and open it in a new window.
Follow these steps to uninstall a program from your computer.
Choose QuickBooks Desktop from the displayed list of programs.
After this, click on Uninstall/Change button and click on Next to complete the
process.
Download the latest version of QuickBooks Tool Hub for free from Intuit's
website.
Click on the file to install and use the tool.
Install the Tool Hub on your device. Tap on the Installation Issues tab to see
if there are any errors.
Use the Clean Install Tool and click OK to delete your old version of Windows.
Choose the correct QuickBooks version that you operate on, press OK, and allow
the tool to run on your device.
Open the folder in which your QB installation files are stored, which is usually
in the C: drive.
Rename the installation folder by adding .OLD to its name and reinstall QBDT.
Solution 5:Reset the.TLG file
QuickBooks will reset the.TLG file which might also help in speeding up your
QuickBooks performance.

Navigate to > File > back up company file.
Now select Create Local Backup.and then click on Options.
Choose your Desktop as the location to save the backup.
Confirm that the verification is completed and check with "OK"
Click the Save button so you can come back to this later.
Solution 6: Check speed in UNC Path
Find the name of the computer's network location. Pressing Windows + E
simultaneously shows this information.
Open it. You will find mapped drives as X:, Z:, Y:, etc.
The server name that you are looking for has two backslashes: \.
Make a note of the server name.
Now put the computer server name and shared folder name as
\ServerNameSharedFolderName and make a note of the pathname.
Open QB and select Open or Restore a Company File.
Choose a company file and click on Next.
Fill in the UNC path in the file name field and hit Enter.
Choose your company file from the list.
Return to QB and use some features to Check if the QuickBooks running slow issue
have been fixed.
Solution 7: Fix Slow running QuickBooks on Network
To double check that QB is running slow, you can test your QuickBooks in a
multi-user environment. In case performance issues occur when more than 1 person
is logged in to the company folder, you should try solution 5. If QB was running
slow with only 1 user logged in over the network, then follow the instructions
given below.

Open the application and press the F2 key.
Locate the company data backup folder.
Make sure all the users are signed out and exited out of QuickBooks
Go to the Windows start menu and select my computer.
Find the file path, click right on the.QBW extension, and copy the file.
Paste it to the desktop.
Open QB and restore the company file saved on the desktop.
Now check if QuickBooks is running slow in multi-user mode.
