SPECIFY ON-BOARD BURDEN RESISTORS

Burden resistors are internal components that allow IoTaWatt to convert the
input current to a voltage that can be measured. The factory supplied burden
values were selected to work best with the range of CTs that can be connected
and most users will never have a need to modify them or the corresponding values
in this menu.

For the benefit of advanced users that have a need to remove or change the
factory resistors, this menu has been provided so that a changed value can be
specified and IoTaWatt can calculate the correct current using the new value.

CONFIGURE OPTIONAL IOTAWATT PASSWORDS

The initial configuration places no restrictions on who can modify or otherwise
access the device. If the device is in a home and connected to a secure WiFi
LAN, that may be adequate to protect the integrity of the device and privacy of
the data collected. If the LAN does not provide suitable protection, or there is
a need to provide port-forward passthough from the internet, access control is
recommended.

IoTaWatt uses the cryptographic Digest authorization method that employs an
encrypted password. Data is transfered in plaintext, but IoTaWatt will not
accept unauthorized requests to view or change data when passwords are enabled.
Given the limitations of an IoT device, you may find it is a reasonable balance
between exposure and data value.

To enable authorization, specify an admin password. Subsequently, all
configuration and access, except for user level access described below, will
require the password to initiate the session. Be sure to carefully note the
password that you set, as IoTaWatt does not store the actual value and it cannot
be recovered. There is a procedure to remove the password, but it involves
physically removing the SDcard.

The optional user password is effectively a read only password for use by apps
that visualize data. The user password does not allow access to the
configuration or SD file system, except for a special /user/ directory

When "unrestricted local access" is checked, passwords will not be required for
requests originating on the local LAN. They will be required only for requests
that come from the internet gateway.

EDIT INFLUX TAG

tag key tag value =

Tags are optional key-value pairs of metadata that can be associated with the
measurement. Because they are indexed, queries on tags perform better than
queries on fields.

When tags are specified, IoTaWatt assumes the first tag is unique to this
measurement and is referenced to determine the time of last measurement during
restart recovery. In that way, an IoTaWatt can maintain context and continuity
where multiple data sources are writing to a single database.

Tag-values can be a fixed string, or one of the variables $device, $name, $units

SPECIFY HTTPS PROXY SERVER

Secure (HTTPS) internet connections are possible using a proxy server on the
local LAN. Information about setting up an NGINX proxy server and using this
feature are included in the IoTaWatt online documentation.

When you specify the URL of your proxy server here, uploaders and other services
will use the proxy when https is specified.
