WINDOWS COMPARISON * I am in the unfortunate but fortunate position to dualboot Win10 * Game launches and plays flawlessy. Hardware issue ruled out. * Rerolled to Arch and launched the game on Proton 9.0.2. * Hit continue (played 60 minutes on Windows). * Game instantly crashes when "Loading resources" appear. CONCLUDING: The game for me might have issues with connecting to EAC and/or EPIC game services and translates this into crashes. I noticed that my system doesn't spin up and seems to go under load at all when loading as it does in Windows supporting the theory. It might fail right away at a EAC/EPIC handshake and not even begin loading resources when you hit continue. I could not get past the logo screens until I disabled the Steam overlay. Once I did, everything else was great. I used a DualSense controller over Bluetooth. Also, when closing the game, it chokes up. After it sits for a long time, it eventually closes with two errors. One is the original error, and the second is failure to write the error to a storage path. This does not have any effect on the game though. I am currently unsure why this is happening and i will have to see if this is a issue with my linux connecting to the severs, or a issue with the game servers themselves. Have concluded the campaign and MP running ok. For those of you that have a sched-ext enabled kernel (CachyOS), activating scx_bpfland in gaming mode makes the game run smooth as silk linen. In fact needed to restart the service once in game, despite having it enabled from PC start. Needless to say that this scx have run the best for my hardware, so you have to try the different schedulers to get the best for yours. Windowing:Other Changing any resolution that wasn't monitor native in Fullscreen creates visual artifacts. Significant Bugs: You must disable the Steam overlay in the game's Properties or the game will always crash. After the first hotfix update, MangoHud also started causing similar crashes. The game doesn't seem to like any overlays hooking into it period as of right now. The whole game is playable but there's definitely stability issues and problems that may be due to the game or Proton or possibly both. The Steam overlay must be disabled to actually play and MangoHud also causes the game to crash now after the first hotfix update, so there's something very wrong with how the game handles overlays in general. Every time you quit the game it takes a while to actually close and you will always receive a crash error afterwards.
