GOVERNMENT WOMEN'S POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE

Govt. Women’s Polytechnic College, Kaimanam, Thiruvananthapuram was established
in the year 1961 and offers 3 year diploma courses in four branches -
Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering and
Commercial Practice. The total intake as on 2019 is 240. The total students as
on current academic year are 706. The staff strength of this institution is 68
as on date. Apart from Diploma education the institute offers short term courses
through Continuing Education Cell and Apparel Fashion Designing through District
Panchayat, Thiruvananthapuram. The institute expects to be a Skill Development
Center for Women in the coming years.

FACILITIES

The college offers high speed internet connectivity to all staff and students in
college campus. The college is provided with 40Mbps broadband connectivity by
BSNL. The Common Internet Facility is available from 9.00 am to 4.30pm on all
working days. This gives students instant access to answers beyond what’s in
their textbooks.

ACTIVITIES

Arts club provides a platform for the talented students to come out confidently.
The main objective of arts club is to promote opportunities for everyone to
participate in cultural programs and develop their abilities. Every year the
club is conducting Arts Festival for the students to exhibit their talents and,
certificates and trophies are awarded.
