FAQ What is the cost of the program? * The registration fee for this three-day program is $2,500. This fee covers all sessions, meals listed on the agenda, and the processing of your designation. Is financial aid available? * BCBSA does not offer financial aid or tuition reimbursement for this program. Tuition reimbursement is traditionally handled by each attendee’s BCBS Plan, according to that Plan’s education and development policies. Please contact your Plan’s Human Resources department for more information. For Association employee attendees: this program is not covered by corporate training dollars for Blue Cross Blue Shield Association staff; your registration fee will be charged to your department. Will this program be offered again? * The program is being held three times in 2023: * August 14-16 * September 20-22 * October 11-13 * This course is offered annually. It is generally held at the same time each year. What are the times of the program? * The program will begin at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. with a reception on day one. Day two begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Day three begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 12 p.m. * An attendee only has to participate in one of the programs in either August, September or October to earn the designation. Will there be an exam during this program? * No exam will be given during this course. Are any prerequisites required for this program? What is the other course required for the designation? Is the AHM 250course a required prerequisite for the program? Will I be able to understand the program content without having taken the AHM course? Is there a fee for the AHM course? * The AHIP courses are no longer a pre-requisite for this program. * The program has no other prerequisites; you only need to be a BCBS Plan or BCBSA employee. What is the target audience for the program? * This program is designed for entry- to mid-level employees of Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association who are committed to growth and education in their BCBS careers. The Designation Program is particularly valuable for: those whose job relies on their ability to understand and speak knowledgeably about the various forces at work in the healthcare market today; those who represent their department to other departments within their BCBS Plan, to other BCBS Plans, or to stakeholders outside their BCBS Plan; and those who seek to develop professional leadership skills in these areas. Can non-BCBS employees attend this program? Can contractors attend this program? Consultants? * This program is open only to BCBS Plan employees and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association employees. Is the designation only within the BCBS System? Is it a new program? Is this an accredited program? * The CHC (Certified Health Consultant) designation is an exclusively BCBS designation.
