leaders in the field of integrated membrane solutions. We offer complete
membrane solutions like reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration and
microfiltration for water, waste water and process treatment and applications.
Hydranautics membrane-based solutions are currently in use on seven continents
throughout the world for diverse applications such as seawater desalination,
industrial high-purity water, surface water treatment, waste water treatment and
specialty process applications.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under limited supervision, performs materials management functions such as
planning, scheduling, and purchasing raw materials for organization’s products
in compliance with customer requirements, company policies, procedures and
objectives using Enterprise Resource Planning systems, including but not limited
to Materials Resource Planning. Facilitate efforts of other functional groups
and suppliers in collaboration of achieving committed ship dates and other
company metrics.  Identify potential alternate or replacement suppliers, work
with internal qualification mechanisms, negotiate prices and terms and plan for
purchases. Escalates purchase orders over $50k to management for approval. Work
with non-direct product components for company’s product offering. 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 1. Reviews and analyzes Material Requisition Planning (MRP) and Distribution
    Requisition Planning (DRP) requests within the company’s enterprise software
    system (JDE) to determine replenishments of raw material or purchased
    finished goods.
 2. Ensures continuity of material supply to manufacturing production optimizing
    inventory levels by ensuring proper material lead times to order materials.
 3. Partners with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering and Product Development
    for opportunities related to material inventory and quality issues. Work
    with Finance/Accounting to resolve Accounts Payable matters.
 4. Issues and manages work orders for outside processing operations.
 5. Oversees supplier management for assigned commodities including reviewing
    vendor performance based on price, quality and service and addressing any
    issues with vendors. Escalates concerns to senior management.
 6. Reviews, monitors and controls cost aspects of materials under area of
    responsibility, including reviewing purchase price variance, bi-annual raw
    material standard costs and determining opportunities to optimize
    cost-reduction of materials.
 7. Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

 1. Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Business Administration and 2 years’
    experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 2. Working knowledge of materials management concepts, principals and Material
    Requisition Planning models in a demand based manufacturing environment.
 3. Read and comprehend moderately complex instructions, correspondence and
    electronic emails. Write reports, and effectively present information in
    one-on-one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and employees
    across a cross-functional matrix.
 4. Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    and enterprise material planning software such as JD Edwards.
 5. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, high-level of
    accuracy and strong follow through.
 6. Working experience in negotiating contracts and developing viable inventory
    management strategies and systems, including understanding terms and
    conditions within contracts.
 7. Ability to prioritize, resolve conflict and achieve results in a fast-paced,
    high-pressure environment.
 8. Availability and willingness to travel if required as part of supplier
    management or if being requested to visit or attend a business transaction
    as legal agent of the company. 
 9. Must be able to work extended hours per the demands of the business.

 

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES (preferred):

 1. Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
 2. Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
