It is a great knife. I have really put it to hard use, and the blade still looks
brand new. My only issue is how many moving parts there are that can so easily
pick up sand or dirt. This can cause the knife to not open and close as it
should. I always clean mine with gun spray, and oil it. But as for a knife that
can fail so easily, it’s hard to suggest it. All that said, CRKT does make some
excellent knives. Just don’t go for one of their garbage dirt cheap knives.

Als ehemaliger Metallurge und Steampunk sprach mich die Mechanik erstmal an.
Nach dem Auspacken die erste Überraschung: Ein vom Gewicht her solides und
haptisch robustes Stück Metall. Nicht unbedingt ein Handschmeichler, aber darum
gehts bei dem Ding ja auch nicht. Die ersten Klappversuche zeigen: mit ein
bisschen Übung ist das Ding sicherlich auch praxistauglich, macht aber in jedem
Fall optisch etwas her. Zum wiedereinklappen sind beide Hände nötig, die
Arretierung ist aus Hartplastik; macht aber einen einigermassen wertigen
Eindruck (Den Rest wird die Zeit zeigen). Nach einem Dutzend Mal ausprobieren
ist die Arretierung aber so gängig, das sich die Klinge problemlos wieder
freigeben lässt. Einhändig einklappen ist aber trotzdem nicht möglich. Praxis:
Ausgeklappt liegt es auch in grossen Händen bequem und sicher, der Winkel der
Klinge ähnelt vom Handling einem Cutter- oder Teppichmesser. Und genau da sehe
ich eigentlich auch den Hauptverwendungsbereich: ein robustes, stylisches
Werkzeugmesser, dessen Klinge durch die ungewöhnliche Dicke (ca 5mm) sicher auch
die ein oder andere grobe Behandlung verkraftet. Ob die übrige Konstruktion
dabei mitspielt, sei erstmal angezweifelt. Für das Geld aber ein "Thumbs Up" für
Messerliebhaber und für Leute, die mal etwas ungewöhnliches im Werkzeugkasten
brauchen......
