GRADUATE-ENTRY MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING PROGRAM

The Graduate-Entry Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program at The
University of Toledo is ideal for the goal-directed person who seeks a career as
a professional registered nurse in the dynamic field of healthcare. Applicants
must have a bachelor’s degree (in any discipline). Graduates of the program are
eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam and may upon graduation decide to pursue a
graduate certificate to enter an advanced practice role as a nurse practitioner,
or they may opt to pursue a doctor of nursing practice (D.N.P.) or doctor of
philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.

The program includes:

 * 66 semester credit hours
 * 540 clinical clock hours
 * 150 lab clock hours

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

 * Applications are completed through NursingCAS and by paying the institutional
   fee:  Submit your UToledo Graduate Admission fee.
   
   
 * Baccalaureate degree (in any field other than nursing) from an accredited
   college/university is required.
 * Prerequisites:
    * 3.0 higher ed, GPA (unadjusted by grade deletion)
    * Human Anatomy and Physiology (6 semester hours) Must earn a “B” or higher
    * Psychology (3 semester hours)
    * Social Science elective (3 semester hours)

 * The program is 2 years in length for full-time students and 4 years for
   part-time students. Both full and part-time options include one summer.
   Students who choose the part-time option will only be on campus 2 days per
   week.  Admission is one time per year in the fall.

ACCREDITATION AND APPROVAL

The master's degree program in nursing at the University of Toledo is accredited
by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate-Entry M.S.N. track
curriculum, graduates are prepared to apply for a license as a RN and take the
National Council Licensing Exam – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN).

The University of Toledo College of Nursing Graduate-Entry M.S.N. track has full
approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
