REMOTE VIBRATION TEST MONITORING IN THE EDM CLOUD BY CRYSTAL INSTRUMENTS

In today’s distributed work environment with employees working on-site and
remotely, cloud capabilities are essential for an organization to operate
effectively. Sentek Dynamics customers have a powerful time-saving tool
available to them in the Engineering Data Management [EDM] Cloud by Crystal
Instruments, Sentek Dynamics sister company and world-class data acquisition and
vibration control innovator. The EDM Cloud provides a digital workplace for
monitoring vibration tests from anywhere in the world. Through the EDM Cloud,
the user can view the test status, run log, and fault history, as well as share
test data and chamber configurations with other team members. This service is
compatible with vibration, temperature, and humidity testing. Sentek Dynamics
vibration systems can be monitored through the EDM Cloud using Crystal
Instruments Spider controllers.

System test parameters and profiles can be uploaded and downloaded via the EDM
Cloud, allowing system access, configuration, and troubleshooting from any
location via a secure, password-protected user account. EDM Cloud can also be
deployed on local servers within an organization’s network, aiding any on-going
cybersecurity initiatives and particularly useful for monitoring environmental
tests involving classified information.

 

 

The EDM Cloud dashboard allows the user to view the run status of all live tests
and the records of all past tests.

 

 

Within each test, the user can view the test status, progress, and peak voltage,
force, and displacement.

 

 

The Run Log records all events that take place during a test, with a time stamp,
descriptive label, and where the event originated in the system. If issues arise
within a system, the run log is a useful starting point to begin
troubleshooting. Having remote run log access allows an entirely distributed
team to effectively collaborate and resolve issues.

 

 

For users who may be new to a vibration test project and working completely
remote, EDM Cloud uploads shaker parameters, giving the user the necessary
information for understanding the shakers capabilities and limits. This enables
a deeper understanding of the vibration testing system and aids the design and
setup of test programs.

 

 

The Signals tab shows the waveforms of the test run and provides critical visual
information for understanding test operation and verifying test objectives are
met.

 

 

EDM Cloud brings together today’s workforce through valuable information sharing
and remote test monitoring, increasing your team’s effectiveness in the digital
workplace.
