investigation revealed five female ex-employees accused Fayed (pictured, right)
of raping them - admitting that Harrods 'failed our employees who were his
victims and for this we sincerely apologise'. A new BBC documentary says the
Egyptian-born businessman - who died in London aged 94 in August 2023 - carried
out the attacks during his time in charge of the outlet between 1984 and its
sale in 2010. The corporation says more than 20 female former workers at Harrods
have come forward to accuse him of sexual abuse and presiding over a 'culture of
fear' at the department store. Now Mr Ward has told current staff in his
internal message they would receive 'the support you need during this incredibly
difficult time', while saying the company was 'utterly appalled by the
allegations of abuse perpetrated by Mohamed Al Fayed'.

Owner Daljit Bhail, 54, (inset) says it is 'madness' how his Grade II-listed
property is being treated and has accused the airport of 'abandoning' the home.
He alleges large gusts of winds caused by aircraft has caused tiles on his roof
to be dislodged and blue ice - frozen sewage leaked mid-flight from plane
toilets - had smashed a glass lantern just outside the house. Mr Bhail says he
and guests at his sprawling 18th century 28-room home, which he rents out on
Airbnb, are being woken at 3am by aircraft roaring in to land at the airport.
But Heathrow has denied the claims and says it has 'well-established programmes
to protect local buildings from the impacts of airport operation'.

Jason Hoganson - who rose to fame after starring in the cult 80s film Empire
State - was snapped leaving HMP Durham on September 10, after serving half of
his 18-month sentence for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and breaching a
restraining order. The 53-year-old heavily-tattooed fallen star was freed on the
same day as the 1,700 people released under Keir Starmer's early release scheme.
But 48 hours later he was back behind bars after being arrested the next day on
suspicion of two counts of breaching a restraining order by contacting the same
ex-partner and one of assaulting her. Prosecutors said that Hoganson, of no
fixed abode, allegedly sent his former partner two letters while he was in HMP
Durham in August and on September 3.

Professional footballer Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has appeared in court accused of
drug importation after £600,000 worth of cannabis was found stashed in suitcases
at a UK airport. Emmanuel-Thomas, a 33-year-old striker who currently plays for
Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton, was arrested by National Crime
Agency (NCA) officers earlier this week. This was on suspicion of orchestrating
the attempted importation of cannabis worth £600,000 through Stansted Airport.

captured on video recorded the moment security staff ordered the group to leave
- as furious activists protested, yelling 'call the police' and 'this is
Britain'. After being booted from one pub, it is claimed the group was then
'followed' by security staff to another boozer nearby before being
removed. Among those taking to the stand in the pub was a retired teacher who
claimed 'gender ideology' - the belief that gender is not fixed and can differ
from a person's assigned sex at birth - should be banned from schools.

John Lewis have released the first part of a new advertising campaign to mark
their 100 year legacy. The retailer's new advert was released today as the first
in a three part campaign and is inspired by John Lewis' enduring prominency on
the high street. The retailer will draw on it's long history, as well as it
promise to Never Knowingly Undersold, which has been part of it brand for it's
duration. Ahead of the release of the retailer's famous annual Christmas advert,
the video will run alongside another two other campaigns during the period of
the Golden Quarter - between Black Friday and Christmas.
