on Jan 26 at Star Hill Ranch, a permanent movie set located just outside Austin,
TX.
We are creating an Old West Main Street experience with a twist. Suit up in your
favorite Western gear, but this is Austin, so you can make it weird if you want
to. Or you can come just as you are.

THE STORY

A great membership program tells a great story. And there’s no better story than
a Bill Murray story.
The Bill Murray 1000 is a unique biographical membership program designed for
1000 true Bill Murray fans. Each membership tells the story of iconic actor,
comedian, and writer, Bill Murray – and a life very well-lived. Bill worked
closely with theCHIVE and Project Venkman to build this program on a foundation
of stories, art, and community.
Launched on July 15, 2022, the Bill Murray 1000 program rewards its members with
exclusive fan experiences, custom silver coins, memorabilia raffles, and an
active online community of like-minded Bill Murray aficionados.
The Bill Murray 1000 program is a two-tiered membership structure:
 * The premium membership tier is the Original Bills (OBs)
   There are 118 OBs and each one features a story in the form of a unique
   anecdote, observation, advice, memory, or Murray-ism. These stories also
   create the foundation for the Destinations tier.
 * The standard membership tier is the Destinations
   The 882 Destinations, each represent one of nine cities near and dear to Bill
   Murray; from his dentist’s office in Omaha to his early days in New York
   City. Each Destination shares a story and design from the OB tier while
   adding unique design elements based on a specific city.
 * The basic membership tier is the Open Edition
   The Open Edition membership tier is a new, no-cost entry point where Bill
   fans can win in-person event tickets, access games, purchase custom merch,
   and join our Discord channels.

The stories cover a broad spectrum of topics ranging from how Hunter S. Thompson
once saved Bill’s life, to the day a young Bill Murray met future President,
John F. Kennedy.
Bill and his son Jackson personally reviewed, edited, and approved every story
in the collection. They also worked closely with author John Resig to add
context to the stories we all know and love, while also contributing dozens of
stories few have ever heard.
Each of these story-based memberships features a unique design inspired by the
story, and each original story is combined with one of nine additional
destination designs from around the world through the places that shaped the man
himself. For every trip Bill has taken, a part of that destination stayed with
him and those changes are reflected through his lens, clothing, and attire, all
represented by each city’s most famous colors. The result of all this (we did
the math) is 1000 unique story/design/destination combinations with something
special for every Bill Murray collector.
A photo-realistic, large-format, acrylic-on-canvas portrait of Bill Murray,
created by artist David Grizzle, visually anchors the Bill Murray 1000
collection. The physical artwork, along with membership #000, was auctioned in
August 2022 for $185,000. Proceeds from the auction were donated to Chive
Charities.
For more than a decade, theCHIVE has built a community of millions around Bill
Murray. Now the Bill Murray 1000 membership program offers owners access to
one-of-a-kind, in-person events with Bill Murray, rare coins minted for the
collection, exclusive merchandise, and membership in The Shack – a Discord
community filled with like-minded owners.

January 26, 2024. To attend this event, you will need to be a member of the Bill
Murray 1000 OB or Destinations paid tiers, or you will need to purchase a ticket
to attend.

DOES THE BILL MURRAY 1000 HAVE A COMMUNITY?
Of course! The community, currently almost 14,000 members strong, is hosted on
Discord at The Shack.
WHAT IS THE MEMBER PORTAL?

The Member Portal serves as the content hub for everyone that owns a Bill Murray
1000 OB or Destinations membership.
The Member Portal is where members:

 * Redeem digital assets to unlock new assets and utility.
