About

ABOUT US

Raukawa Housing Charitable Trust (RHCT) was established on the 12 April 2024,
with a mission to provide affordable, quality housing that supports whānau
wellbeing and reflects the cultural values guided by Kaupapa Tuku Iho, Māori
principles. The Trust was created in response to the increasing demand for
housing solutions that are flexible, innovative, and aligned with the needs of
Ngati Raukawa and the wider community.

By focusing on providing culturally aligned, affordable housing solutions,
Raukawa Housing Charitable Trust will be strategically positioned to ensure that
the housing needs and aspirations of both the Iwi, Hapu and the broader
community are achieved.

The establishment of Raukawa Housing Charitable Trust to become a registered
community housing provider (CHiP) was supported by Raukawa Whānau Ora, who
shared the vision of improving the wellbeing of whanau by empowering them with
sustainable housing options. With its commitment to managing and developing
homes that serve not only the Iwi but all communities, Raukawa Housing
Charitable Trust aims to create long-term solutions to the housing challenges
faced in the region, and will embrace partnerships with other Iwi, hapu,
government agencies, developers, and financial institutions to provide a menu of
housing options for whanau to consider.
