SUMMER OLYMPICS IN PARIS


The Summer Olympic Games are one of the most important sporting events in the
world, taking place every four years and attracting the best athletes from all
over the world. The Czech Republic has been a regular participant in the Games
since 1993, although Czechoslovak athletes have competed in the Olympics since
the early 20th century. Czech athletes have achieved significant success in a
variety of disciplines, including athletics, canoeing, shooting and others. 

As in previous years, the Webarchive has prepared a thematic collection of Czech
websites related to the current Olympic Games. We archive sports news as well as
websites of sports federations and associations and individual athletes.

Czech judoka Lukáš Krpálek has already won two gold medals at previous Olympic
Games. The Czech Judo Association, which we have been archiving regularly since
2015, brings together judo players in the Czech Republic.

Cycling is a popular sport at the Summer Olympics. The Czech Cycling Federation
is the main organisation responsible for the development and promotion of
cycling in the Czech Republic, coordinating the activities of national teams and
organising domestic competitions and championships.
