The void generally refers to an empty or undefined space, typically
characterized by a lack of substance, matter, or meaning. It can be used
metaphorically to describe a feeling of emptiness, loneliness, or a state of
being devoid of purpose or significance. In some philosophical or scientific
contexts, the term "void" may refer to a hypothetical vacuum or space that is
devoid of matter or energy.

The creatures that live in the open space are mostly spineless, their blood is
often black and the appearance is strange like filthy slime. Void creatures lack
anything that could be called, in any way, a physical body.

The forms they create for themselves are made via an intricately complicated
array of illusions, telekinetic forms, and multitudes of other minute magical
processes that no one from existence could comprehend.

The closest they can come to death is being banished to the void from which they
emerged, by being physically 'killed' via having their entire spiritual energy
reserves drained. This prevents them from returning to existence for a period of
a few decades or centuries.
