SPECIFICATIONS

K9 Advantix is an effective, once a month flea & tick treatment that uses three
types of medication (imidacloprid, permethrin, pyriproxyfen) to kill, prevent
the growth of, and repel these pesky parasites. Imidacloprid is the most widely
used insecticide in the world, attacking the central nervous system of fleas,
while having little to no effect on mammals. Permethrin works in much the same
way as imidacloprid, but against ticks, killing them on contact. Pyriproxyfen is
an insect growth regulator (IGR), which means that it prevents flea larvae from
further developing into adults, thereby stopping the flea life cycle in its
tracks.

K9 Advantix is for dogs only. K9 Advantix should not be used in dogs that are in
a debilitated state, elderly, pregnant, nursing, or under 7 weeks of age. Dogs
that are taking other flea and tick medication should not be taking K9 Advantix,
and dogs with a known allergy to any of the ingredients in K9 Advantix should
not take this treatment. Cats should NEVER be given K9 Advantix, as they are
unable to process permethrin. Contact to this medication by cats can be serious
and even fatal. Cats should be kept away from dogs taking K9 Advantix up to 24
hours after being treated.

The proper way to apply K9 Advantix is to take the applicator tube out of its
packaging and remove the cap, holding upright so as to not spill the contents.
Depending on your dog’s weight, apply the solution in either 3 or 4 spots along
their spine, between the shoulder blades and the base of their tail. Make sure
to apply directly to the skin by ruffling their fur. Place a third to a quarter
of the tubes contents in each of the spots of application, being careful to
avoid dripping. Allow a few hours for the solution to dry before petting or
bathing. The solution is waterproof, so once dry, there is no need to reapply if
your dog decides to go swimming or is in need of a bath.

TOP QUESTIONS ABOUT K9 ADVANTIX® II

How does K9 Advantix® II work?

Not all products work the same way: K9 Advantix® II is applied to the pet’s
skin, spreading the active ingredients over your dog’s body to kill fleas, ticks
and mosquitoes through contact. No biting required!

How long does K9 Advantix® II last?

A single application of K9 Advantix® II keeps working for a month.

How do I apply K9 Advantix® II?
Use only on dogs. DO NOT USE ON CATS or other animals. Do not apply to dogs
weighing less than 4 lbs. Remove applicator tube from the package. Use scissors
and peel down foil. Hold applicator tube in an upright position. Pull cap off
tube. Turn the cap around and place other end of cap back on tube. Twist cap to
break seal, then remove cap from tube. The dog should be standing for easy
application. Evenly apply the entire contents of the tube along the top of the
dog’s back, from the shoulder down to the base of the tail. The number of spots
depends on the size and weight of your dog (please refer to the product label).
At each spot, part the hair until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube
on the skin and gently squeeze to expel a portion of the solution on the skin.
Do not apply an excessive amount of solution at any one spot that could cause
some of the solution to run off the side of the dog. Do not get this product in
your dog’s eyes, or allow your dog to ingest this product.
Is K9 Advantix II waterproof?
Can my dog go swimming after using K9 Advantix® II? Yes! Your dog is free to
take a dip after K9 Advantix® II has been on for 24 hours.
How long after using another topical product do I need to wait before applying
K9 Advantix® II?

Please consult your dog’s veterinarian for their recommendation.

Should I apply K9 Advantix® II after a bath?

Yes! We suggest bathing your dog before applying K9 Advantix® II. Your dog needs
to be dry at the time of application. If you choose to bathe your dog in between
treatments, we recommend use of a general grooming shampoo for pets.

Can I use K9 Advantix® II twice in a month?

A single application of K9 Advantix® II remains effective for four weeks.
However, if the dog has a severe infestation, retreatment within a month may be
necessary. Do not retreat more than once every seven days, not to exceed 4
weekly treatments. After flea control is attained, return to a monthly treatment
schedule.

Why do I still see fleas after using K9 Advantix® II?

Although K9 Advantix® II kills fleas on your dog, there may still be fleas in
your dog’s environment that have since jumped on after treatment. Luckily, with
K9 Advantix® II, new fleas are killed within 2 hours with protection against
further infestation for at least 4 weeks. As fleas die they are no longer able
to stay hidden against your dog’s skin, and therefore you may also be seeing
dying fleas coming to the surface of your dog’s fur coat.

How long does it take for K9 Advantix® II to work on fleas?

K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from
the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2
hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks.

Can my dog go swimming after using K9 Advantix® II?

Yes! Your dog is free to take a dip after K9 Advantix® II has been on for 24
hours. More frequent swimming may keep the product from working for the full 30
days.

What are the side effects of K9 Advantix® II?

Monitor your dog after application. In rare cases, some side effects may include
signs of skin irritation such as redness, scratching or other signs of
discomfort. Gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting or diarrhea have also been
reported. If these or other side effects (such as lethargy or agitation) occur,
consult your veterinarian or call 800-422-9874.

How long does it take to kill fleas?

Proper administration of effective residual flea products to all dogs and cats
means no more fleas reproducing and no more eggs dropping into the environment.

Therefore, within 2 to 7 days, eggs that were previously deposited have
developed into larvae, within 1 to 2 weeks the larvae have now developed into
pupae, and 1 to 4 weeks later those pupae are now adult fleas. As these fleas
emerge and jump on treated pets they are hopefully being killed by the flea
product.

Therefore within 3 to 8 weeks or occasionally as long as 3 months, all the adult
fleas and immature life stage biomass should be gone.6,7 How bad a flea i
