This sampling detector detected abnormal condition in the air in one of the data center suites. There was no heat or visible flame. Local fire brigade checked the situation in the data center suite. Abnormal smell was caused by broken power supply unit in a single device. Because of the accuracy of the sampling fire detector, the situation was identified fast and the source of problem was located. There was no customer effect from this event. During that period of time the server did not respond properly to DNS requests. However primary DNS server (164.215.32.70) was operational all the time. Ficolo / Verne Global Finland network team have now fixed the situation and DNS server is responding properly again.
