We understand what it means to live and study away from home.

CAMPUS LIFE

At International School Altdorf, students are instilled with a sense of
responsibility, even when it comes to extracurricular activities.




Our students have access to a wide range of extracurricular resources on campus,
including facilities for tennis, basketball, football, volleyball, swimming as
well as a student-run animal shelter. Our school is located at the very base of
the Swiss Alps with views over beautiful Lake Lucerne and outdoor activities
simply become a natural part of everyday life. We believe extracurricular
activities are an important part of our students’ personal development and
encourage everyone to actively participate, meet new friends, join clubs and

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED?

There are currently 80 boarding school students enrolled, however we accept
day-school students as well.

HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN EACH CLASS?

Class size depends on the popularity of the course. Some classes have as few as
five students, but no class has more than 20. Classes are limited to about 10
students. Our small class sizes allow teachers to take responsibility for our
students’ personal growth and encourage their curiosity. Small class size leads
to excellent academic results, enabling our students to receive acceptance to
some of the most prestigious universities in the world.

HOW MANY STUDENTS SHARE A ROOM?

Our on-campus accommodation has double and triple rooms, with two and three
students per room respectively.

WHAT DO STUDENTS DO ON WEEKENDS?

In addition to completing homework assignments, there is a wide range of
activities on and around campus.

ARE STUDENTS PROVIDED HELP TO APPLY TO UNIVERSITIES?

Yes, we help students research and choose their universities as well as apply to
the schools they choose.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2023-24

International School Altdorf is pleased to offer scholarships to highly capable
students who meet the strict academic requirements and demonstrate their
potential. This is a highly competitive and limited scholarship opportunity for

Oscar was one of our scholarship students in 2017. During his time in Altdorf,
he won a Gold Medal at the European Physics Olympic Competition and was later
accepted to Oxford University.
