INSTRUCTORS

BRIANA WILES

Having been in practice for more than a decade, it’s no surprise that Briana has
a huge passion for her career as an herbalist. Briana specializes in teaching
about wild foods, herbalism, and creating organic herbal body care products.
Rooted in Gunnison, CO, Briana has an abundance of wild plants—many of which are
edible or medicinal—in her backyard. Plus, she’s written two books about
foraging (Mountain States Foraging, and Mountain States Medicinal Plants) and
owns Rooted Apothecary, which has a store in Gunnison and another in Crested
Butte.

KAT MACKINNON

Kat is the botany course director and primary faculty at the Colorado School of
Clinical Herbalism. Kat lives just outside Boulder, CO, and when she’s not
working you can find her making plant medicine and exploring in the mountains of
the Colorado Front Range.
