WHY USE UNDERLAY?

It is recommended that you always use underlay with any flooring installation.
Both laminate flooring underlay and wood flooring underlay have a range of
benefits to consider and can make a huge difference to the end result of your
installation and lifespan of your flooring. Subject to the type you choose,
laminate flooring underlay and engineered wood flooring underlay can help to
even out your subfloor and provide a better laying surface, aid with
soundproofing, make sure that you have no problems with water damage or heat
escaping and provide cushioning underfoot.

HOW THICK SHOULD UNDERLAY BE?

The thickness of the underlay you need will be determined by what floor you are
putting down. Vinyl Click flooring will require our special LVT underlay, which
is only 1.5mm thick. For laminate and engineered wood flooring, anything from
our 2mm Platinum Plus to our 5mm Acoustic Gold will suit.
