FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is the HISTORY of the Independent National Convention?
The first INC was held in October 2020 in Cheyenne, Wyoming by a collection of
Independent Sector activists.  That convention also hosted the final 2020
Independent Presidential Debate produced by Free & Equal Elections. At that
convening, the Independent National Union (INU) was formed as a new organizing
body to support the vision, roadmap, coordination and impact of the Independent
Sector. INC Austin is the second Independent National Convention, produced by
the Independent National Union.

2. What are my MEAL Options?

Attendees are responsible for their own meals.
We will have a cafe lounge at the Convention Center and attendees can
self-service lunches and dinners. Attendees are welcome to bring quiet, tidy
snacks with them into the Convention hall. The Convention center will also have
a concession area. We will be serving water in the Convention room throughout
the event.

3. What are my HOTEL Options?

INC Attendees are responsible for securing their own accommodations.

We will work with local hotels to secure blocks of discounted rooms.  As that
occurs, we will email registrants and those discounted rooms will be available
on a first-come, first-serve basis.

4. What's needed to ATTEND INC AUSTIN?

Event registration is now open.

Once you have paid for registration you will receive a confirmation email.  As
the convention approaches you will receive emails with instructions on how to
check-in and receive your lanyard badge.  You will be required to wear your
lanyard badge for access to each Convention segment.

5. What is an INC DELEGATE GROUP & how do I create one?

Delegates Groups are official groups that register ahead of time and issued
Delegate Group status.

Anyone bringing a group with them to the INC can register as a Delegate Group
Lead.  Delegate Group Leads create a name for their group and are issued an
official seal for your delegate group. Delegate Group can be named after the
Lead, a a shared interest of the group, or a brand name. Delegate Groups are
encouraged to host their own reception on Friday evening before the event and
come to the convention as a unified sub-community of the United Independent
Movement. To register your Delegate Group, email CLICK HERE. 
6. Are there SCHOLARSHIP options for Low Income?

YES.

Scholarships require application and there is no guarantee of acceptance. We
offer different tiers of scholarship and you will be informed if you have
received one and what it includes. You can APPLY HERE.

7. Can my organization be a SPONSOR for the INC?

Sponsoring the INC is a great way to support the development of the US
Independent Sector as well as create exposure of your brand, product, service or
initiative to an aligned audience.  You can see the sponsorship opportunities
outlined HERE. Sponsors are accepted through careful vetting of alignment.  Our
VIP Sponsor package is available to anyone and a great way to support!

8. Can I promote the INC to my network/audience as an AFFILIATE?

YES.

9. Is this event going to be a SAFE place for me?

We want you to be with us and will do everything we can to create safe space.

Regarding physical safety we will take security measures and safety precautions
to minimize the chance of harm.

Regarding emotional safety, we are devoted to a United Independent Movement that
celebrates all of humanity. Our content will be powerful, but not polarizing.
Every presenter will be creating space for what matters to you. People from all
backgrounds will be presenting and all are warmly invited. Translation will be
available. If you have any other needs, please contact the event team.

The United Independent Movement will rise through our ability to work together,
leveraging our diversity to create a thriving future.

10. What is the POLICY PLATFORM of this event and movement?

We understand that it matters to you what topics will be presented at INC AUSTIN
to make sure that it's aligned with your interest, morals and beliefs.  The
United Independent Movement is comprised of people from all backgrounds.  We
unite on topics of 'Governance' - the quality of our democratic processes -
which was the focus at the founding of our country. You can expect topics
including democratic transparency, accountability, effectiveness and
due-process.  INC Austin will not be presenting or making claims on any social
or economic issues.  All topics matter, especially the most sensitive ones.  We
need to first build the foundation of similarity, unity and a civic culture of
stewardship.  From there we will be able to address other topics together. 

11. I Don't Use Email. Can I Receive TEXT MESSAGES Instead?

YES.
