CONFERENCES, SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS


The EWC Academy (and its forerunner organization) have been holding conferences
and seminars for members of European works councils, SE works councils and
special negotiating bodies since January 2009. So far, employee representatives
from 292 companies have taken part including many of them for several times.
This represents around 25% of all transnational works council bodies in Europe.
In addition there are numerous in-house events and guest lectures given to other
organizations.

Our highlight is always the annual symposium in the Harbour Hotel Hamburg
(photo).

19 - 21 October 2022 in Dublin, Ireland



EWC CONFERENCE IN IRELAND - PROGRAMME WILL FOLLOW SOON

So far, the EWC Academy has held six EWC conferences in London. With Brexit we
are now moving them to Dublin, as many UK and US companies have done with their
EWCs. However, Irish law does not meet the standards of the EU-Directive (see
report: www.ewc-news.com/en012021.htm#1). The meeting will be interpreted
simultaneously. The evening program includes a visit to the Guinness Storehouse,
the historic brewery with a panoramic view of the city.

EWC AND SE SEMINAR IN MONTABAUR CASTLE


Our annual basic seminar for individual members of European and SE works
councils is being organised in Montabaur Castle not far from the high-speed
railway station half-way between Frankfurt and Cologne. The following topics
(Level 1 and 2) are offered in parallel:

 * Level 1 – EWC and SE initiation seminar (for beginners)
 * Level 2 – From a "song and dance act" to a full-fledged consultation body
   (for advanced)

The sixth German-British conference was held in March 2019 just a few days
before the originally planned withdrawal from the EU. → more

Looking back: Works council seminar in Poland


A seminar took place in October 2017 in Gdańsk (photo: participants in front of
the medieval port crane, landmark of the former Hanseatic city). The topics
covered were Shared Service Centres and labour relations in Poland.
