through the process to take and answer any questions you may have. The family
should then obtain the Certificate of Cause of Death (CCOD) from the doctor and

WHAT SERVICES DOES A FUNERAL PROVIDER OFFER?

Funeral providers can offer a wide range of services from renting facilities for
the funeral ceremony and managing the family’s paperwork for burial or cremation
plans, to arranging for vehicles for the burial or cremation. They can also
offer a directory of funeral directors, advisors and undertakers in Singapore,
carry out embalming services, assist in catering food for funeral guests etc.

SHOULD I HOLD THE WAKE AT A MEMORIAL HALL OR AT OUR HDB VOID DECK?

There are a few factors to consider when deciding whether to hold the wake at a
memorial hall or void deck. One of which would be your family’s personal
preference. Below are also a few factors you can consider when making the
decision:

Pros of Memorial Hall:

 * The keys to the memorial hall will be handed over to the family for the
   duration of the wake. Family members have the choice to lock up the unit and
   head home to rest for the night instead of keeping guard at the funeral wake
   overnight
 * Our memorial halls are located in Central Singapore, and might thus be more
   convenient for family and friends visiting the wake
 * The preferred option for those staying at condominiums as some condos do not
   allow funeral wakes to be held.
 * Some families staying in private houses may prefer the option of a memorial
   hall as they do not wish to set up a tentage in their homes or to protect the
   privacy of their house.

Pros of Void Deck:

 * Relatively cheaper than renting a memorial hall.
 * Convenient for family members who live nearby or at the HDB block.
 * Easier for neighbours or friends of the departed loved one to visit.

HOW MUCH DOES A FUNERAL TYPICALLY COST IN SINGAPORE?

The cost largely depends on the type of funeral chosen (Buddhist, Christian,
non-religious etc) as well as the complexity of the funeral. At Casket

led by the consultant Chen Yu Ru.Since our first interaction, Yu Ru did a
marvelous job - seeing through the needs, answering the queries, giving

some optional items and the flexibility that is possible.The logistics set-up
was handled by teams - though different providers handled different aspects,
they were well-coordinated - and more importantly, they checked and saw through

night watcher definitely helped a lot. Similarly, the 2 servers/ helpers during
the wake in the evening.The funeral procedures were well thought-through and we

sending my elder sister off. The funeral was well organised n the execution was
smooth. Within an hour of my call, Patricia n team was onsite to collect the
body n ran through the funeral arrangements. The rituals performed during the

Ming Liang has been most helpful in ensuring everything is runs smoothly, we are

My family have been served by Ms Patricia team from Casket Fairprice for the
funeral. The team is very professional and she guided my sister and me from the
moment my late mother passed away on 27 May 2024. The arrangement of my late mom
from hospice to funeral at HDB void deck was seamless. She arranged the
logistics of funeral wake (buddhist), drinks and snack and vegetarian buffet for
3 days. The cost of $10k +++ was reasonable and no extra charge. My late mom is
at peace with the arranged monk chanting and the final departure at mandai
crematorial. Thank you Ms Patricia and team. I was very pleased with the service
provided by Casket Fairprice.

My father's funeral was arranged very quickly. Casket Fairprice has a 24-hour
hotline, and a funeral advisor was very quickly dispatched to the hospice to
meet with us. Our advisor is Chen Yuru. She's meticulous and efficient, and she
and her team professionally and patiently guided us through the entire funeral
process, no issue was considered too trivial for them to help us with, so we

Following the passing of our dad, we chanced upon Casket Fairprice and was taken
by surprise by the reviews they had. Made a call at 10.15pm on Saturday night
with Rachael taking our call. She followed up with a Whatsapp message right
after the call outlining what we spoke, and answered our follow up questions
promptly. Getting answers promptly really helped. The following morning, we met
Xavier Seng, funeral advisor at Casket Fairprice's office to understand its
packages and look at the memorial hall. Xavier was very patient and proposed the
best options based on the last wishes we were going to execute. From that
morning onwards, everything went on seamlessly and efficiently for the wake to
start the next day right up till cremation. The memorial hall was serene, clean
and thoughtfully designed (lighting was well thought out), comes with private
restrooms. It was the perfect last earthly gathering venue for our dad and a
comfortable place for family members to be at. Xavier and his team also went the
extra mile with small gestures that we really appreciate. Its van and hearse's
upkeep is also very well done. Every team member is smartly dressed and neatly
groomed with the uniform, and the vest is a very nice touch throughout. The
bowing to the deceased by the team at appropriate moments greatly topped up the
team's professionalism. It was a dignified final send off for dad. We are very
glad to have found Casket Fairprice, and to be served by Xavier as our main
point of contact. Keep up the maintenance and service!

I had look thru website for the Funeral service for my uncle and i found Casket
Fairprice. I had been appointed to Advisor Mr Kok Wee. He help us from the
beginning all the way to the end, i would say he did an excellent job! Any
unsure he will tell us what to do and even goes extra miles to help us. I really
appreciated he and his teammates together for the greatest help for my Uncle
funeral. Overall the package is very reasonable and worth it! Once again thank

We would like to thank MingLiang and his team for having done an excellent job
for our late centenarian grandmother on her big day.MingLiang displayed
professionalism throughout, from the moment we met him at the nursing home right
to the end at the temple.Not only was he thorough in his explanation of the
funeral package on what was included and excluded, but he also gave very clear
instructions on what to do and not to do.In addition, MingLiang was patient with
our multiple queries and accommodating to our various concerns and
needs.Similarly for his team members, they were very professional.The Master of
Ceremony lady (think Ms Tan) delivered a speech which was very touching, this is
especially so with her warm and soothing voice.The other two gentlemen (sorry,
did not get their names) were also thoughtful, always ready to lend a helping
hand.For instance, the taller gentleman quickly stepped forward to assist my
elderly uncle who has walking difficulty to board (and alight) the coach without
being asked.Another example was the other gentleman standing at the car park
gantry and holding onto the barrier gate so that my grandmother's hearse and the
family members following closely behind could all pass through it without
difficulty.Kudos to everyone in the team. Our utmost appreciation to all.

Xavier is godsend. He has extended a hand of compassion and sympathy during the
hours of our grief and sadness on my mum’s passing on 25 May 2024.He handled the
