WELCOME TO ROTHERWICK



Rotherwick Parish Council strives to safeguard the interests of the community
and promote the Parish of Rotherwick to the best of its ability. This is
achieved in a variety of ways including monitoring services carried out by
District and County Councils, representing views of parishioners to other
authorities, supporting and liaising with local clubs and organisations,
protecting and enhancing its environment, sustaining and developing community
spirit, recognising parishioners and volunteers who contribute to the fabric of
the village and promoting local businesses and services.

Rotherwick lies on gently undulating countryside in an attractive location to
the north of Hook, close to the north-western boundary of Hart District with
Basingstoke & Dean.  The village is surrounded by dense woodland to the east and
south east, and by fields and the parkland associated with Tylney Hall to the
west, south west and south.  The Conservation Area is large, encompassing a long
historic country lane (The Street), fields and woodland, as well as Tylney Hall
and the land around it. There are many listed buildings, including two
timber-framed houses dating back to the 16th century and an early church, built
from flint and brick.
