This short-eared owl was caught mid-flight by a visitor at Battelle Darby

This week, our resource management staff, with the help of other staff members
from around the park district, conducted prairie burns at Battelle Darby Creek
🔥 These controlled burns knock back invasives and other plants that would
otherwise keep native prairie plants from growing, and have tons of other
benefits for the land as well! #cbusmetroparks

along the trails - it's an early-blooming member of the parsley and carrot

A great game to play outside is always "what's that sound?" This time, we
discovered some chorus frogs at Glacier Ridge! Chorus frogs can be heard from up
