Minecraft NFTs Not Allowed, Developer Says


Minecraft is one of the most played games across multiple platforms, and it will
not use non-fungible tokens or NFTs. Mojang, the developer, won't support or
allow Minecraft NFTs, it stated in a blog post on Wednesday.






“To ensure that Minecraft players have a safe and inclusive experience,
blockchain technology is not allowed to be used within our Minecraft client and
server apps as well as utilized to create NFTs associated with any game-related
content, including worlds skins, personal items , or other mods,” Mojang said.




According Mojang, there has been NFTs made by companies connected to Minecraft.
minecraft servers However Mojang said that the tokens aren’t inclusive and
create a “scenario of the haves versus the have-nots.” Mojang also expressed
concerns about instances of fraud as well as artificially increased prices for
NFTs.




NFTs aren’t yet fully accepted by the videogame industry. However there have
been a few success stories that didn’t last due to the crypto winter. Experts
say NFTs will become the norm in gaming when they find the right way to
implement them.
