WHAT’S INVOLVED IN ORTHODONTICS TREATMENT?

HOW DOES ORTHODONTICS WORK?

Both dental braces and clear aligners work by applying pressure to the teeth to
coax them into their correct positions. Teeth can come through misaligned or
become crooked at a later stage. Fixed metal braces utilise brackets and wires
and patients can expect to visit the dentist frequently to have the wires
tightened or replaced so they continue working. Clear aligners consist of a
series of customised trays which are worn over the teeth like a mouthguard. 3D
technology is used to plan the journey of the teeth and create a series of
aligners which each move the teeth a minuscule amount before being swapped out
for the next in the series. By the time the last aligner has been worn, the
teeth will be straight and even.
