Your role

Are you a sharp evaluator of risk? Can you investigate complex situations and
propose solutions? Do you want to make a difference? Do you have specific
experience of model risk management, model development or model validation?

We’re looking for model risk auditors who can:
• drive or work as a team member on reviews and audits of models in various
business areas, in particular stress testing including ICAAP, treasury and
finance, including thematic and front-to-back reviews
• analyze and assess risks arising from both the business and support functions
• identify and evaluate the effectiveness of controls designed to address those
risks
• document and communicate audit issues, root causes and risks, and prepare
reports of audit findings for UBS Group and UBS Europe SE senior management
• develop recommendations for items that solution owners should consider when
finalizing their action plans
• review remediation actions submitted by the business for closure to assess
whether these have addressed the original risks
• support senior auditors and Risk SMEs in the quarterly continuous risk
assessment
• successfully collaborate with peers in and across global audit teams
• develop and maintain relationships with senior management

Your team

You will be working in the Internal Audit department of UBS Europe SE in
Frankfurt. Our role, as an independent function, is to support UBS in achieving
its strategic, operational, financial and compliance objectives. We do this by
assessing key processes as well as governance, risk management, and the control
environment within all business divisions and Group Functions (GF) functions
globally. We report directly to the Management Board of UBS Europe SE and are
functionally aligned to Group Internal Audit (GIA), reporting directly to the
Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee.

auditing controls related to stress testing models as well as other model types
across the entire firm. You will be directly involved in UBS Europe SE and
global model risk related audits and periodically assist our colleagues in other
GIA teams.

Your expertise

You have:
• experience (at least 4 years) in developing, validating or auditing
quantitative finance, risk or treasury models. This experience could have been
gained for example at a consulting firm or an internal audit function.
• a Master in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, etc.)
• strong analytical skills and quantitative approach to problem solving
• a detailed understanding of banking operations and regulations as well a
quantitative approach to problem solving
• knowledge of European regulatory requirements and expectations
• excellent command of written and spoken English; additional languages,
especially German, are a plus

You are:
• able to quickly understand complex processes and challenge the status quo,
identify risks and inadequacies in procedures
• willing to (i) keep up with industry and regulatory developments and (ii)
learn new concepts and methods
• able to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders
• risk focused, and capable of using data analytics to gain insights into
firm-wide risk positions and model risk exposure
• reliable when working on your own, with sound judgment for when to escalate
issues,
